HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 11.15.1965 CC-S443 Georgetown, Texas November 15, 1965 The City Council met, on the above elate in called session, Mayor R.S. Elliott presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: Edward Lee Evans, Doyle Lyda, A.U. Iloyt, Jr.., llubert II. Brock, Jay C. Sloan, Cbvrles D. Eyeington, City Manager, Claud rads, City Secretary, Joe B. McMaster, City Attorney, Claudie Mayo, Electrical Superintendent, Joe McCook, Jr, City Auditor, Joe McCook, Jr., presented his audit report of the City's books as of September 1, 1964 through August 31, 1965. Motion by Vdward Lee Evans and seconded by Doyle Lyda that report be accepted. 'Motion carried by unanimous vote. Councilman Evans suggested that an inventory of the City's stock of merchandise be taken at time of next audit. Claudie !Mayo discussed the need of electrical extension to serve Southwestern University and various other areas west of town arid north of town. The amount of cost was estimated at around $89,000.00. No immediate action was taken. Mayor suggested that, following propositions be submitted to J. L. Janetsky, manager of Georgetown Airport: City will furnish at no rent change the following installations: 1. Original old hanger 2. T hangers 3. Administration Building 4. llouses (2) 5. Gasoline Concession Mr. Janetsky is to pay utility bills for the two house's and for two hangers in his use. Also Mr. Janetsky is to pay old account of $755.00 cash or at the rate of $100.00 per month. The City will retain the two new hangers and will assist in keeping the airport facilities in good condition. This agreement will be in effect through July 1, 1966. A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING OFFER OF TF_CAS IIICY]MAY C01sR SSION AS CONTAINED IN TLiAS HIGHWAY COMMISSION MINUTE ONDER N0. 46565. IMEREAS, by Texas 1Ii-;hway Commission Order No. 56565, reference to said Minute Order being hereby made for _all p►rrposes, and a .copy _of stone being attached to this Ordinance and made a part hereof as if copied herein at length, the Texas highway Commission of the State of Texas offered to construct certain lighting facilities on I.11. 35 within the City Limits of Georgetown, conditioned upon by the payment by said City for the electrical energy to operate said fixtures and the cost of maintenance to said facilities; AND 11'IIEREAS, THE City Council of Georgetown, Texas, deems it wise, expedient and to the best interest of said City to accept said offer as contained in said !Minute Order No: 56565: 444 G� THIMEFORE., BE IT RESOLVED that said offer contained in said Minute Order No. 56565 is hereby accepted. The following councilmen and officials were present: Jay C. Sloan, A. W. Iloyt, Jr., Doyle Lyda, Edward Lee Evans, Hubert, 11, Brock, Charles 1). Eyeington, City Manalrer, Claud Eads, City Secretary, Joe B. McMaster, City Attorney, Claudie Mayo, Electric Superintendent. Also present were: J. C. Oliver, William Miles, with National Engineering Company of Austin, Texas and Roy Kerzdorn, Consultant to National Engineering Company also head of the Electrical department at the University of Texas, and Curtis Il. Adrian with the Firsf Southwest Company Investment Bankers, Austin, Texas. Mr. Kerzdorn discussed at length with the council construction of electric power lines to serve the area east of town, specifically Southwestern University. Mr. Curtis Adrian with First Southwest Company discussed in detail the procedure the city would take in issuing warrants and the interest cost which he stated would be 410. Air. Adrian also explained to the council the conversion of the warrants into Tax bonds after they were issued, and stated that the Tax bonds would bear from 3 to 31 percent. No action was taken.
