Mayor Elliott appointed Doyle Lyda and A. W. Hoyt, Jr. to
cnrvass election returns for the election held on January 30, 1965
TO TE HONORABLE RAWLFIGH S. ELLIOTT, MAYOR.
We, ,your committee apnointed to canvass the returns of the
Snecial City Election held Janu,:,ry 30, 1.965, to elect one Al.derm=n
to fill the un -expired term of. one Alderman, report as follows:
That J2,7 Sloar received 163 votes for Alderman and Vi. S. Shell
received �6 votes for Alderm-in.

Special City Election. ETC.
Mananer Black read notice of election to he held AprifL16,1965
for tie purpose of electing three(3) Coonciilmen or Council Women
and Akr,,or Elliott announced that Parrs. Reuben Bivgs as election
Jude, Motion by Evans and seconded by PIoyt, Election Resolution
he arproved. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Mayor Elliott administered the Oath of Office to Jay C. Sloan
to serve as Councilman. Council accepted Termination of Lease
A,r�reem.ent from Pete Sukap on lot located east of Post Office.
Motion By NTiles and seconded by Hoyt that Manager Black be
authorized to ]_ease narking lot on 7th Street owned by Mrs. L. N.
Watkins at a price of $30-00 per. month. Motion carried by un—
animous vote.
Mina-er Black discussed the nossibility of Hot Rod Club of
Georgetown u.sin ; Community Center 13uildir_p to have dances in.
Council sligpested that permission be granted for this Purpose to
Junior Chamber of Commerce and that dances are to be srnonsor.ed by.
Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Manager Black stated that the Comml?nity Center Ruildin7 had.
been .reserved for March of Dimes dance.
Motion by evans and seconded by Miles that an increase of 5
cents per hour be given to all hourly employees, Motion carried by
unanimous vote.
Couneil,a reed to furnish Electricity to Georgetown Schools
at West Side and Junior High and Elementary Uchools for tennis
courts at Viest Side Schooi and other lif-htinf, at the two other
schools. The Schools are to furnish the poles and lid -ht fixtures.
There beim* no further business on motion by T,Iiles and seconded
by Jay C. Sloan, co?incil adjourn.
