The City Council met in regular session on the above date
Mayor R. S. Elliott presiding. The following Aldermen and Officials
being present, Doyle Lyda, A. W. Hoyt, Jr, Edward Lee Evans,
Lee C. Black, City Manager, Claud Eads, City Secretary, Fred Knauth
Joe B. McMaster, City Attorney, Lenard McLaughlin Fire Marshall,
Jessie Lozano, Fire Chief,, Kyle Orsman, Chief of Police, John Baker,
Manager Chamber of Corrimerce, R. F. B. Morse, President Chamber of
Commerce, JI -Ay C. Sloan , President Citizens State dank. Judith Manly,
Reporter for Williamson Co. Sum. Motion by Evans and seconded by
Hoyt that City purchase Fire truck:from Williamson Co. Enuipment
Company and Equipment from Simms Equipment Company.. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
Manager Black read minutes of regular meeting held December
14th, 1964. Minutes were approved as read.
City Attorney advise Council of the present Status of
Law Suit concerning permit on sewage waste wuter to be placed into
river.
R. F. B. Morse discussed at length with the Council the
parking situation a;.d sbEgested that notices be put on parking meter
post to the effect that people parking for a long period of time use
the Cit's parking lots. Council agreed Lo have the signs put up.
Motion by Evans and seconded by Lyda that City pay $75.00
to the Eust Texas Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of advertising
the various aspects of the City. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Mayor stated that there would be a called meeting of the Coucnil
on the 25th of January for the purpose discussing with the Master
Planning Board in reference to the Land USE report.
There being no further business on motion by Evans and
seconded by Hoyt that meeting adjourn.
