HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 09.14.1964 CC-R395 Georgetown, Texas September 14,1964. The City Council met on the above date Mayor R. S. Elliott presiding. The following Aldermen and officials were present, Kennie Wilcox, Jr., A. W. Hoyt, Jr., E. P. Miles, Doyle Lyda, Edward Lee Evans, Lee C, Black, City Manager, Claud Eads, City Secretary, Fred Knaut4, Dan Dowda, Chief of Police, Jessie Lozano, Fire Chief, John Cardwell with Williamson Cpunty Sun, Drew Ballard,with K.G.T.N. John Baker, Manager , Chamber of Commerce, Gus Stenken, Judith Manley, with Williamson County Sun, W. R. Stump, J. D. Wininger, Dr. H. R. Gaddy, Ralph Russell, 0. W. Sherrill, Mit Lee, Harry Gold. Manager Black read minutes of regular meeting held August 10, 1964 and called meeting held August 24, 1964. Minutes were approved as read. Manager read reports.for the month of August and presented General Fund Bills in the amount of $2,622.78. Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Miles that reports be accepted and bills paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Clifford Langford and Tommy Forbes, President and Vice President of High School Student Council, discussed their plans in prompting safety programe in the schools and asked the cooperation of the City Council. The Mayor assured them that the Councilwould be happy to cooperate with them in their safety program. Mr. Mit Lee representing San Gabriel Hills addition asked that the Council annex the San Gabriel Hills to the City of Georgetown, Joe B. McMaster stated that the petition for annexation as in the process of being signed and the City could not act until petition was presented to Council in its proper form. SEE ORDINANCE BOOK PAGE 384-385 Motion by Evans and seconded by Hoyt that the above Resolution be accepted. A general discussion was held regarding mrious activities of the City.
