The City Council met in re-ular session on the above date. Mayor
R. S. Elliott presiding, the following Aldermen were present, I:ennie 1rilcox, Jr9j

Manager Black read minutes of regular meeting held July 13, 19EA and
called meeting held August 4th, 1964. Hinutes were approved as rea(?.
Yanager Black resA reports for the month of July and presented %janeral
rund Rills in the amount of 11,320.26. Motion by T+files and seconded by Lyda that

crew Yall with Crown Life Insurance Company stated that the Company
had been operating'at a loss and requested Council authorize an increase of 231,, in
rates for insurance premiums.
Yotion by I.oyt and seconded by Miles that increase be gra.rited. Votion
carried by unanimous vote.
M. E. Petrosky discussed at length with the Council possibility of
getting a place for shooting range. I-Lti yor sug6ested that :.1r. Petrosky meet with the
Council at a loter date with definite plan and place for location of shooting range
and the City Council would be glad to cooperate.

Motion by F,vens and seconded by Lyda that above plat be approved.

Jessie Lozano and Lenard llcl,F ughlin discussed at length with the
Council the purchasing of gas masks. The 11a;,or suggested the firemen !,ecide the
type of masks they wanted and the Council would authorize the purchase of them.
'Mayor read letter from Brazos River Authority in reference to the

the dams and vrater conservation and flood control on Sf;n Gabriel Rivers.
M{nager Black read letter from Highway Department in respect to the
traffic siVials on Into -state Cl in Northtown. Highway Department stated
that they would come up with a solution in near future.
Motion by Fvsr.s and seconded by 14ilcox that I. J. Mc Coo$, Jr. be
appointed Auditor for the years 190- and 1964. Motion carried by unanimous
vote,
Mayor stated that there would be a called meeting of Council on the 24th
day of August.
There being no further business on motion by Fvhns and seconded by &files
that meeting adjourn.
