The City Council met in regular session on the above date Mayor
R. S. Elliott presiding. The following Aldermen and officials being
present, Kennie Wilcox, Jr. A. W. Hoyt, Jr, Doyle Lyda, Edward Lee Evans,
E. P. Miles, Lee C. Black, City Manager, Claud Fads, City Secretary,
Fred Knauth, Joe McMaster, Lenard McLaughlin, Jessie Lozano, Fire Chief,
Dan Dowda, Chief of Police, Dr. Byrson, Rirector Williamson County health
Department , C. S. Sanders, City Tax Assessor & Collector, Les Hudson with
Bryant & Curington Engineers, John Cardwell , Judity Manly with Williamson
County Sun Publishing Co., Voilliam Harrison, City Manager of Seward, Alaska.
Manager Black read minutes of called meeting of City Council on June
24th, 1964 and a called meeting held on July 8th, 1964 and regular meeting
held on June 8th, 1964. Motion by Miles and seconded by Hoyt that minkites
to approved as read. Notion carried by unanimous vote.
11anager Black read reports for the month of June and presented Cene-al
Fund bills in the amount of 4 839.38 for approval. Motion by Lyda and
seconded by Wilcox that teports be accepted and bills paid. Notion carried
by unanimous vote.

RESOLUTION NO.1
V;Hr.R?,AS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas has
authorized a program -of construction of sewerage works at an estimated. -cost
of $276,700.00 and the United States Government, acting through the Public
Health Service, has offered a Federal grant in the amount of 01,677.22 as
designated on Part A. Offer and Acceptance, now under consideration by this
body.
NOW, THE.REFORR, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mlayor and City Council of the
City of Georgetown, Texas, that said offer as submitted, together with the
terms and conditions thereof, is herebyaceepted and approved; and that R. S.
Elliott, Meyor of the City of Georgetown is hereby authorized and directed to
sign said Offer and Acceptance and any other necessary documents required to
complete the project on behalf of said City.

PE IT iTIRTK., RESOLVED that the Gity of Georgetown has or will procure
a fee simple or such other estate or interest in the site of the project, in-
cluding the necessary easements and rights-bf-way, as to assure undisturbed use
and possession for the purposes of construction, operation and maintenance of
the works for the estimated life of the projcet; and that in the event such
title, estate, or interest in such site, easements or rights-of-way may in
the future be contested, the City of Georgetown trill defe!d and maintain its
title in such site and hold the United States Government blameless in such
action) and that before any Federal payment is requested pursuant to said
grant, said City will provide certification as,to the sufficiency of such
estate or interest.

Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Utiles that Resolution be adopted .
Votes as follovis - Ayes- Wilcox, Lyda, Evans, hoyt, Miles- Noes- None.
Jessie Lozano , Fire Chief and Lenard McLaughlin , Fire Marshall sug-
gested that the following items were needed by the Fire Department 1000 feet
of 22 inch hose., two smoke masks, 750 gallon pumper truck. Alderman Evans
suggested that the Council allovate certain amount of money for the fire Dept.
each month. The Council suggested that Manager Black and Jessie Lozano work
out bud -et for Fire Dept* and present their findings to the Council ata
later date. . lotion by Evans and seconded by Miles that the above suggestions
be approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Council approved purchase
of 1000 feet of 22 " hose.

RE IT R11SOL`dED that henceforth it shall be the policy of the City
of Georgetown to follow whatever procedures that arA available to secure
payment for curbing, guttering and paving of streets oither voluntarily or
through mandatory assessment against.the owner of the property lying adjacent
to such•improved streets.
?lotion by Evans and seconded by Hoyt that resolution be adopted .
r,'otion carried by unanimous vote.
Motion by Evans and seconded by Ho;,rt that City execute Eminent
Domaine in removing houses that are in the streets. Motion carried by uki-
animous vote.
Pr. Byrson with the 71illiamson County health Unit stated that there
was a need for another Sanitary Inspector and sug,;ested that the City of
Georgetown portion of expense for hiring an inspector would be 000-00 per
year. Miotion by Hoyt and seconded by Evans that "ity participate in the
above program on a tentative basis. Due to the fact the County Commissioners
Court is expected to contribute most of the funds and they have not been
contacted as yet. Motion carried by unamious vote.
'.11otion by Hoyt and seconded by Fvans that street off of 15th going
into San Jose and property thet it to be paved in Stin Jose be oiled. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
?,:"lotion by Evans and seconded by miles that a fee of 10� per foot be
charged for oiling streets and that a complete block must be agreed to be
oiled before oiling. :.lotion carried by unanimous vote.
There being no further business on motion by Kiles and seconded by
h oyt meeting adjourn.
