Yarsger Black read reports for the month of April and suorijitted General Fund Dills in tie amount of 1806.08 and Utility Rills in amount of $12,270.68. &notion by Wilcox and seconded by Miles that reports be accepted and bills paid. Potion carried by unanimous vote. Liotion made by Alderman Evans in minutes dated .April 8th,1963 in feference authorizing Yayor Elliott to purchase Belford Lumber Co, prorerty, should read a proposal to purchase uelford property not to exceed ''2e,,000.00 for the purpose of building City Hall. Mr. Russell and Elmer Pate representin- Junior Chamber of Commerce stated they would like to cooperate with the City officials in any safety program. U. 113 and School 1/3. Mayor also was authorized to extend financial assistance to:either:Southwestern University or Georgetown Public School for short period of time. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Bids were opened on a new 11 ton 1963 Ford Truck, 12,403.40. Bids were also opened on a new 1963 Biscayne 4 Door Sed -n 195 Horse power V8 Engine, ;1,945.60 Motion by Evpns and seconded by Lyda that low bids be accepted in each ce_se. That an election is hereby ordered to be held in the City of Ceor€etown, Texas, on the 4th day of June , 1963, such date being not less than fifteen (15) nor more than thirty (30) days from the date of the adoption of this order, at which election the following propositions shall be submitted to the resident qualified property taxpaying voters of said City, who own taxable property in the City and who have duly rendered the same for taxation, for their action thereupon: PROPOSITION TJO, i Shall the City Council of the City of GeorEptown, Texas, be authorized to issue $50,000.00 bonds of said City, maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed thirty (30) years from their date, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five per cent (55') per annum, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity, for the. purpose of constructing street improvements in said City, as authorized by the Con- stitution and laws of the State of Texas. PROPOSITION NO. 2. Shall the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue X119.000.00 of revenue bonds of said City, maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed thirty(30) years from their date, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five per cent (55) per annum, for the purpose of constructing extensions and improvements to the City's waterworks system; said revenue bonds to be special obli-ations of the City 321 of Georgetown, payable as to both principal and interest from and secured by a first lien on and pledge of the revenues of the combined waterworks, sewer and electric light system. after deduction of reason- able operation and maintenan^e expenses. P7,OPOSITION No. 1. Shall the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be authorized to issue 0196,000.00 of revenue bonds of said City, maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed thirty (30) years from their date, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five per cent per annum, for the purpose 6e constructing extensions and improvements to the City' sewer system; said revenue bonds to be special obligations of the City of Georgetown, payable as to both principal and interest from and secured by a first lien on and pledge of the revenues of the combined waterworks, sewer and electric light system, after deduction of reasonable operation and maintenance expenses. Section 2. That the revenue bonds hereinabove mentionect:in Propositions 2 and 3 are to be ratabley secured in such manner that no one bond shall have priority of lien over any other bond, it being the intent hereof to provide for the creation of an indebtness against the City's combined waterworks, sewer and electric liLht system for the purposes stated in said Propositions 2 and 3, and such bonds submitted under those two propositions as lire approved by the qualified voters voting at the election herein and, hereby ordered, are to be issued in one or more installments, but as a single combined authorization; and the holder or holders of such bonds shall never have the right to demand payment thereof out of any funds raised or to be raised.byC taxation. That said election shall be held at the FIRE STATION in the City of Georgetown, Texas, (all of said City being included in one election precinct) and the following named persons are hereby appointed managers thereof, to -wits Mrs. R. That said election shall be held under the pro- visions of and in accordance with the lay's governing the issuance of municipal bonds by cities, as provided in the General Laws of the State of Texas, and only resident qualified property taxpaying voters of the City of Georgetown, Texas, who own taxable property in said City and who have duly rendered the same for traxat"k, shall be allowed to vote.
