The City Council met in called session on the above date, Mayor
R. S. Elliott presiding. the following officials were present, E. P. tiles,
Kennie Wilcox, Jr., A. W. Hoyt, Jr, Doyle Lyda, Edward Lee Evans,
Lee C. Black, Claud Eads, W. K. McClain, City Attorney, Dan Dowda, Chief
of Police, C. S. Sanders, City Assessor and Collector, Fred Knauth, Jim
Boutwell, Carl Doering.
Bids were opened on a new winch truck, 1- ton 1963 Yodel des-
cribed as below.
1963 Chevrolet 12 Ton Chassis and Cab with std.6 Qyl. Engine
72" cab to

City of Georgetown must furnish a tax exemption certificate
for reimbursement of federal tax on this unit.

Motion by Vtiilcox and seconded by A. V�. Hoyt,Jr, that low bid
be accepted which was made by Compton Chevrolet, Vote carried by
unanimous vote.
Construction of hard ball field Semi Pro. and Municipal field was
discussed as a cost cf $13,214.22. Carl Doering, President of
Georgetown Public School Board was present and stated that he was
sure that the school would contribute 1/3 of cost of field. Council
decided to postpone the project at present and attempt to raise funds
from other sources before construction of field.
Manager Black stated that he had contacted k:r. Les Moreland
Ececutive director of Industrial Accident Board and informs him of
City's ordinance that was passed in reference to Workmen's Compensation.
rr. Moreland stated that city was covered by torkmen's Compensation
after passage of Ordinance take effect April 1st, 1963.

Mr. Black stated that Harold Parker wished to annex_ about 4000
feet near the Country Club road exit at City Limits. No action was
taken since Mr. Parker has not completed a deal with Country Club
Officials for praperty:.
Manager Black stated that Mr. Lil Dimmitt had secured the S. IT.
Fraternities to clear old cemetery on ridge and Yr. Black hed agreed
to furnish tools and foreman to work with the boys on pro,;ect.
Motion by Hoyt and seconded by brans that necessary repairs on
lights at ball field at Carver P:;rk and build bleachers to seat 50
people at a cost estimated at y250.00 . And add additional lights.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
P;r. Black read letter from Mr. J. D. Staples, Supervising Right
of Way Engineer with Highway Dept. requesting the City of Georgetown
to forward necessary agreement plans and estimate concerning electrical
facilities and water and sewer lines which are elisible for reimburse-
ment. Manager Black stated that this was being taken care of.
Mr. Staples stated that the Highway Dept. was not in position at
this time to discuss purchase of Dump Ground.
Jim Boutwell discussed the proposal of moving Champion Air Craft
assembly plant to Georgetown Airport and requested the council for space
and a building to house plant consisting of about 24,000 square feet of
floor space in case the deal was consumiated with Champion Air Craft Corp.
in Wisconsin.
Council assured Mr. Boutwell they would cooperate with him when and if
the deal was completed.
Council discussed the purchsse of the nelford property at a price
or J-25,000. Motion by Evans and seconded by Hoyt that Mr. Belford be
asked for option to negotiate for property until next regular meeting of
Council April fth. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Alderman E. P. Niles volunteered to make a survey of Church from 8th,
street south of City Limits to ascertain if the property ovrners wished to
widen Church Street.

Council instructed Manager Black to fill in dips on Church
6treet.
Council instructed Chief of Police Dan Dowda to warn ambulance
drivers adhere to speed limits on city streets.
Council discussed at length ways and means to service proposed
bond issue to be presented to voters at a later date. No action was
taken.
There being no further business on kotion by 7vilcox and seconded
by It'iles that meeting adjourn.
