Elliott presiding, The following Aldermen and officials were preant ,Kennie's,ilcox, Jr, Doyle Lyda, E. P: Miles, Edward Lee Evans; A. 4. Hoyt, Jr. Lee C. Black, City Yanager, Claud Eads, City Secretary, Fred Knauth, Dan Dowda, Chief of Police, Lenard McLaughlin, Fire Marshall, V'+. K. McClain, City Attorney, Robert Champion, City Police. Reporters, Vartha Bowmer, i4ray oeddell. Also present were J. T. Perry, Guy 11. Ewing, Charles Braun, Calvin Marshall, Jerry Perry, Manager Black read minutes of regular meeting held February 11, and minutes of called meeting held February 18th, the minutes of both meeting approved as read. Manager Black read reports for the month of February and submitted • General Fund bills in the amount of 4969.60.` Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Evans that reports be accepted and bills paid. Potion carried by unanimous vote. J. L. Perkins requested coucil grant him permission to open and operate a plant in old Oil Ull building to mix Amonium Nitrate with Diesel Oil after being mixed and haveing Dynamite and caps applied is used for Explosives. The Dynamite and Caps to be stored outside City limits of Georg=town, Motion by Evans and seconded by Lyda that Mr. Perkins be per- mitted to open and operate above business. Motion carried by unanimous vote. J. T. Perry and Guy V. RNing, registered eompliint with Council with reference to Junked automobiles being placed on property on Austin Ave, between L & E. Lumber Company and Allen Kotel property. Mayor R. S. ('f'_�-lliett suggested that Chief of Police Pan Dowda file complaint against "r. C. P. k einbrenner against using above property for storing junked cars. Calvin Marshall requested the City Council.$Q light'the baseball field and presented figures in the amount of $4,837 -yo which represented the host of'the'Leander hard ball field. Motion by Doyle Lyda and seconded by A. W. Hoyt, Jr, that Mayor Elliott meeth with Carl Doering, President of the Georgetown Independent School Board and su-Cest that School pay 50% of above cost and report back to Council, Motion carried by unanimous vote. Gauncil authoriz6v City Attorney 1a. K. 1cClain to make an offer of $6,900.00 for purchase of Johnnie 'o+ritht's lot located west of i'irst National B&nk. 302 Russ "Martha Bowmer by request drew the candidates names from hat to be placed on ballott as follows: 1. A. iv. Hoyt,Jr., 2. hiss Bessie Parker Hughes 3, Edgar P. biles 4. , . 0. Fletcher 5. Kennie liYilcox,Jr. b. Jimmy Manning. Ordinanoe repealing The Flirting Ordinance was read and passed on one reading only. The follwing votes were cast repealing Ordinance. Ayes- Wilcox, Lyda, YT les , Fv<! ns , Hoyt, Noes- None. P. smiles that Ordinance be read in full, Votion was carried by the following Votes. Ayes- Wilcox, Viles, Lyda, Evans, Pf©yt, ?'goes- None. Ordinance was read in full. On Motion by Wilcox and seconded by Lyda, on account of an emergency clause contained therein, that the usual rules for passing ordinances be suspended, that the said ordinance be hereafter rfed by Caption and be passed to its second reading. The Motion carried. The following is the votes Ayes, orilcox, Lyda, Miles, Fumes, Hoyt, Foss- None. Motion by Miles and seconded by Ho,7�t that the said Ordinance be passed to its third reading. The Votion passed by the following votes;_;uileox, Lyda, Riles, Evans, Hoyt, Noes- None. Ordinance reed by C-ption. Motion by Riles and seconded by Lyda ghat the same be passed finally. the following was the votes 1,1'ilcox, Lyda, Riles, roans, Hoyt, Noes- None. The Vayor declard the same duly passed. See Ordinance Book Page 265 Robert Champion presented plans from various Hospitalization Insurance Companies for City employees. Council stated that the City would participate in employees Hospitalization Insurahce. N Motion by Evans and seconded by Hoyt that city construct hanger at Airport at an estimated cost of S8,984.00 providing that Capital Corporation bign a lease for eight years. 'mayor R. S. Elliott stated that ti -:ere would be a called meeting of the Council March 25th at 7:30 .
