The following Alderman and Officials were present, Edward Lee Evans, Kenhie Vtiilcox, Jr,, A. We Hoyt, Jr., E. P. Miles, Doyle Lyda, City Manager Lee C. Black, Claud Eads, City Secretary, W. K. McClain, City Attorney, Dan Dowda, Chief of Police, Lenard McLaughlin, Fire Marshall, Fred Knauth. Also present were Mrs. Otis Person and Miss Martha Bowmer re- porters and Mr. Carl Doering. Manager Black read minutes of regular meeting held December'l0th, 1962, which were approved'as read. Manager Black read reports for the month of December and submitted General Fund bills for approval in the amount of $554.98. Motion by Doyle Lyda and seconded by A. W. Hoyt, Jr., that reports be accepted and bills paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Manager Black presented bids for Auxililiary Stand -By Unit for City Well No. 2. Waukesha Engine, Type 190- GLBU 56 H.P.. $2,290.00, bid submitted by Layne Texas Company. Bid submitted by Capital Diesel do Industrial rachine Works, Waukesha Engine, Type 190 GLBU 56 H. P. $2,395.00. ?lotion by Edward Lee Evans and seconded by E. P. Miles that Manager Black be authorized to purchase above described engine from Lane Texas Co4ipany for 42,290.00. Motion carried by unanimous vote. AN ORDINANCE OF T'1E CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ZONING FOR TRAFFIC A'TD RATE OF SPEED THEREIN, R. M. 2338, A14D DECLARING RATE OF SPEED ON OTHER STREETS: DEFINING SPEEDING AND FIXING A PENALTY THEREFOR; DECLARING WHAT MAY BE A SUF'FICIE�W CO,IV- PLAI24'T IN PROCECTUIONS HEREUNDER; WITH A SAVING CLAUS AND A CLAUSE REPEALING CONFLICTING LA4"sS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Motion by Edward Lee Evans and seconded by A. W. Hoyt, Jr., that Ordinance be passed to its first reading. Following Votes, Ayes- Miles, Hoyt, Wilcox, Lyda, Evans, Noes- None. Ordinance was read in full. SECOND READING. Motion by Miles and seconded by Hoyt that Ordinance contains emergency clause and that usual rules for passing be suspended and Ordinance be read by Caption hereafter. Roll, Vote , Ayes, Miles, Hoyt, Lyda, Evans, Wilcox, Noes - None. 296 t, THIRD READING. Motion by Wilcox and seconded by Evans that Ordinance be read by Caption to third and final reading. Mayor declared Ordinance Passed, See Ordinance Page No. - .s7ss AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGFTOAN, TEXAS GRANTING TO NATIONAL UTILITIES AND CABLE CORPORATION AND ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, A PPRMIT TO LOCATE, CONSTRUCT, MAINTAIN, AND OPERATE A SYSTEM OF EXHIBITION OF VISUAL AND AUDIBLE ENTERTAIMNT IN HOMES IN THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE USE, RIGHT, PRIVILEGE, POYVER, AND AUTHORITY TO CONSTRUCT , MAINTAIN, OPERATE, AND REMOVE IN, OVER AND ACROSS T11E STREETS, AVENUES, PARKiVAYS AND PUBLIC PLACES THE NECESSARY EdUIPMENT FOR THE OPERATION OF SUCH SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF GEORGETUAN, TEXASs PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR THE PROPER INSURANCE AND PERMIT FEES. SECOND READING. Motion by A. W. Hoyt, Jr, and seconded by E. P. Miles that T. V. Cable Ordinance in the City of Georgetown, be read by Caption. Roll call Vote as follows, Ayes, Miles, Hoyt, Wilcox, Lyda, Evans, Noes- None. Mayor set a called meeting of the Council on the 24th, day of January to discuss Sewer and Water Lines in North town and western portion of City. Manager Black was instructed to have a new lease agreement prepared for the new owners of Georgetown Auction Sales as Mr. Adams is selling his austion sales business. The construction of a new City Hall Fire Station and Police building was discussed. Mayor stated that there would be meeting held by the 15 man committee on the 17th, day of January 1963 to discuss the formulating a charter for Home Rule Government of the City of Georgetown.
