The following Alderman and Officials were present, Kennie Vilcox,Jr., A. We Hoyt, Jr., E. P. Miles, Doyle Lyda; Edward Lee Evans, City Manager, Lee C. Black, Charles Norwood, Assistant City Manager, Claud Lads, City Secretary, We K. McClain City Attorney, Dan Dowda, Chief of Police , L. G.•Glover, General Superintendent. C. S. Sanders, City Tax Collector , Claudie Mayo, Chief Electrician L. L. McLaughlin, Fire Marshall, Derrell Bradford, City Recorderp Others present were C. M. Brennan,District Manager, Southwestern States Telephone Company, John Allen, Chief Accountant for Southwestern States Telephone Company, Iva Thomas, F. D. Skaggs, Sam Brady, Janie Edwards, Mrs. Jewel Edwards, John Cardwell, Russell Parker, J. T. Parker, Harold Parker, Edwin Schneider. Manager Black read minutes for regular meeting held June 13, 1962 and these were approved as read. Manager Black read reports for the month of June and submitted General Fund bills for approval in the amount of t6ol,30. Lotion by Edward Lee Evans and seconded by E. P. Miles that reports be acdepted and bills be paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote:. Lotion by A. o Hoyt, Jr, and seconded by Kennie suilcox, Jr., that be authorized to have Filter Plant repaired by Infilco at a cost of $1,706.00. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Edward Lee Evans and seconded by Doyle Lyda authorizing Manager Black to secure bids for a new Garbage truck. Votion carried by unanimous vote. TAX ORDINANCE Motion by Kennie Wilcox, Jr., and seconded by E. P. Miles that Tax Ordinance for the year 1962 be read in full. Motion carried with the following votes, Ayes- Wilcox, Lyda, Miles, Hoyt, Noes- Fvans. Ordinance read See Page # 231 Ordinance Book. Motion by Wilcox and seconded by miles that the above ordinance contains the emergency clause, therefore the usual rules for_passing ordinances be sus- pended, the same read by caption here after and passed its second reading by the following votes, Ayes - Wilcox, Lyda, Viles, Hoyt, Noes* Evans. ORDIFANCE READ BY CAPTION. 278 C" H N Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Lyda, said ordinance was passed to its third and final reading. Following was vote, Ayes, Wilcox, Lyda, Aviles, Hoyt, - Noes -Evans. ORDINANCE RPAD BY CAPTION. Motion by Wilcox and seconded by Miles, said Ordinance was passed to 3rd, and final reading. The following being Votes, Ayes, Viilcox, Lyda, Miles, Hoyt,, Noes- Rvans. Mayor Elliott declared ordinance finally passed. Sass Brady discussed Blanket Bond coverage for. the City Employees as to type of bonds available and cost coverage of each type. Mayor Elliott appointed Kennie Wilcox,Jr., E. P. la les and Manager Black to look into the matter of securing some type of above Blanket Bond for employees. COURT ORDINANCE. Motion by A. Vie Hoyt, and seconded by Wilcox that City Court Ordinance be read in full, Motioncarried with the following votes, AYES- Wilcox, Miles, Hoyt, Evans, Lyda, NOES- None. ORDIYANCE R7AD BY CAPTION. Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Lyda, said ordinance was passed to its third and final reading. Following Votes, AYES- Wilcox, Lyda, Miles, Hoyt, Evans, NOES - None. Mayor declared Ordinance finally passed. Ce M. Brennan, District Manager for Southwestern States Telephone Company and John Allen Accountant for Southwestern States Telephone Company made applicHtion for rate increase for telephone Company. Motion by Be L. Evans and seconded by E. P. Miles that rate for Southwestern otates Telephone Company not be granted at this time. Motion carried by unanimous vote, as follows AYES, Vuilcox, Evans, Lyda, Miles, Hoyt; NOES --tkoIM. 279 Russell Parker, J. T. Parker and Harold Parker discussed at lenfth with the Council the possibilities of bringing Crestview Addition into City limits, no action was taken. Llotion by E. L. Evans and seconded by A. W. Hoyt that Y-iilliamson County Health Unit budget be increased from $4,210.00 to $4,500.00 . Motion carried unanimous vote.
