The City Council met in regular session, -Mayor R. 6. Elliott
Presiding. The following Alderman and officials being present, Rennie Yailcox,Jr.
A. We Hoyt, Jr., Be P. Miles, Doyle Lyda, Edward,Lee Evans. Lee C. Black, City
Manager, Charles Norwood, Assistant City Manager, Claud Eads, City Secretary,
Dan Dowda, Chief of Police, Jessie Labit, G. M. Brennan , District Manager for
Southwestern States Telephone Company.
Manager Black read minutes of May 14, and called meeting of May 22p_ Motion
by E. P. Miles and seconded by Kennie Wilcox, Jr, that minutes be approved. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
Mr. Brennan discussed at length with the Council the Southwestern states
Telephone Company's prior rate proposal to Council in previous meetings and sug-
gested that he meet with Council at a future date to discuss rate increase for
Southwestern States Telephone Company.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS FIXING THE COM*
PENSATION THAT SHALL HrREAFTrR BE PAID TO TALE CITY ATTORNEY
AJTD THE CITY RECORDER FOR THEIR STI2VICES, REPEALING SECTION 8
AND 9 OF CHAPTER XIX OF THE COLLECTIVE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
OF GEORG" CP, -M, TEXAS, RELATING TO FEES, AND DECLARING AN
E",,MGENCY.
Motion by Edward Lee Evans and seconded by A. 1d. Hoyt, Jr,, that
Ordinance be read in full and roll call was as follows, Ayes, Wilcox, Lyda,
Evans, Miles, Hoyt, - Noes- None.
SECOND READING . Motion by A• io. Hoyt, Jr, and seconded by Doyle Lyda that
Ordinance contains emergency clause and that usual rules for passing of Ordinance
be suspended and Ordinance be read by Caption hereafter. Roll call, Vote, Ayes,
Wilcox, Lyda, Evans, Hoyt, Miles, Noes- None,
THIRD READING. Motion by Doyle Lyda and seconded by A. We Hoyt, Jr, Ordinance
be read by Caption third and final reading, Roll call, Ayes, Hoyt, Wilcox,
Evans, Miles, Lyda, Noes - None. Mayor declared Ordinance passed. Ordinance

Mayor kliott appointed Edward Lee Evans, E. P. Miles, Dan Dowda and
Manager Lee C. Black to arrange for setting up Police Court.
Moeion by Edward Lee Fvans and seconded by F. P. Miles that all
employees paid on an hourly bases and that have been in the employee of the
City for 6 Moo be increased 4% and the following salary be paid to the
Monthly employees.

by Hoyt that meeting adjourn.
