HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 04.16.1962 CC-SGeorgetown, Texas April 16,1962 The City Council met in called session on the above date. Mayor Rawleigh S.Elliott presiding. The following Aldermen and Officials being present, Kennie Wilcox, Jr. Doyle Lyda, Edward Lee Evans, A. 79. Hoyt,Jr. City Manager Ise C. black, Claud Eads, City Secretary , W., K* McClain, City Attorney . Also present at the meeting were John Cardwell, Jim Boutwell, Aubrey Nobles, Don Duvall, James Janetsky and Mrs. Janetsky, Dave Taylor, Donald Martin, Sid Muhle, C. E. Harris. City Manager Black made the following report to the council of the services the City had performed for the Williamson County Sheriff's Posse. Prepared the Rodeo Arena, leveled ground for arena prior to each performance, policed the parade, directed traffic on Highway 81, using 12 extra men. Using electric department for putting up banners also had eleo':ric department stand by in case of electric failure, two extra police work traffic before and after each performance. Manager Black stated that expenditures for each Rodeo by the City was $200.00 each year. Motion by Edward Lee Evans and seconded by Doyle Lyda that Manager Black adhere to the same policies as in the previous years. Motion carried by unanious vote. This meeting was called pricipally to discuss expansion of activities at the Airport and to have the now lessees discuss their operations which was done fully by James Janetsky, Airport Manager, Jim Boutwell and Don Duvall. During which discussion the eoundil questioned each one fully about their operations. Mr. Boutwell and Duvall stated that they would also like to have a full time operation at Airport. Aubrey Nobles discussed fully with the council the possibilities of his acquiring a lease from the City to operate a full time flying school at the Georgetown Airport. Mayor Elliott stated that the facts of each case would be taken under consideration and would give each party an answer as soon as possible and not later than next regular meeting May 14,1962.
