The City Council met in regular session on the above date.
Mayor, C. A. Forbes, Alderman, J. H. Compton, Floyd Engvall, Floyd Jones,
A. W. Hoyt,Jr. Manager, Vee C. Black, Assistant City Manager, H. A. Partain,
Dan Dowda, Chief of Police, W. K. McClain, City Attorney, Lenard WoLaughlin,
Fire Marshall, Claud Bads, City Secretary.
Manager black read reports for the month of August and submitted
bills in the amount of $ 858.39. I!otion by J. H. Compton and seconded by
A. #d. Hoyt, Jr. that reports be accepted and bills be paid.
J. T. Perry suggested that the Little League ball club withdraw
from the City Recreation Department and handle their games independent of
the recreation board. Mayor Forbes suggested that Mr. Perry meet with
the recreation board and present his plan to them.
Charles brown requested that the City provide new base -ball field
for the Babe Ruth League, Mayor, Forbes suggested that he take the matter
up with the recreation Board.
THIRD READING. On motion by J. H. Compton and seconded by A. W. Hoyt, 'jr,
that Zoning Ordinance be reed by Caption . Caption was read by.A. We Hoyt, Jr.
Roll Call Vote, Ayes, Compton, Hoyt, Engvall, Jones, Wilcox, Noes- None.
Mayor C. -A. Forbes declared Ordinance passed.
Motion by A. We Hoyt, Jr. and seconded by Floyd Engvall that
council approve appointment of Edward Lee Evans as third member of Equalia.
nation Board.
An Ordinance presented amending collected Ordinances passed Nov. 8th,
1954 and amending Chapter XXIX - Utilities Section 2- fixing rates that
shall be charged for City Utilities services . Motion by F. E. Jones and
seconded by A. W. Hoyt, Jr., that ordinance be read in full and roll can
vote was as follows, Ayes, Compton, Engvall, Jones, Hoyt, Wilcox, Noes, None.
SECOND REAPING. Motion by Floyd Jones and seconded by A. W. Hoyt, Jr.
that Ordinance contains emergency clause and that usual rules for passing
of ordinance be suspended and that ordinance be read by Caption hereafter.
Roll call Vote, Ayes, Compton, Jones, Engvall, Hoyt, Tiriloox , Noes- None.
THIRD READING. Motion by Wilcox, and seconded by Compton, ordinance be
read by caption third and final reading, roll call, Ayes, Compton, Jones,
Engvall, Hoyt, iriloox, Noes- =one.
