. The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Yayor
Pro -Tem A. W. Hoyt, Jr., Aldermen, J. H. Compton, Floyd Engvall,
Floyd E. Jones, Kennie Wilcox, Manager, Lee C. Black, H. A. Partain,
Assistant City Manager, Claud Eads, City Secretary, if. K. McClain,
City Attorney, Calvin Sanders, City Tax Collector, Lenard McLaughlin
Fire Marshall, Dan Dowda, Chief of Police. Also present was
Martha Bowner reporter for Williamson County Sun.
b'.ana;er, Black read reports for the month of May and submitted
bills in the amount of 51,594.81. Motion by Kennie Wilcox, Jr., and
seconded by J. H. Compton that reports be accented and bills paid.
W. O. Fletcher met with council and discussed the damages done by
stray dogs to his sheep and suggested that council look into the matter
of preventing stray dogs from running loose in City,
Manager read notice of Public hearing of proposed Zoning Ordinance.
The hearing is to be held at County Court room on the 29 d, -,y of June,
which is tl-e second Zoning hearing to be held.
The City Council authorized "anager Black to look into the possibility
of securing stand by unit to produce electric power for Georgetown
Hospital in case of disaster in this area.
Mr. G.M. Brennan and Mr. Allen with the Southwestern States Telephone
Company discussed their need for and increase in telephone rates in
Georgetown. There was no action taken in the matter and deferred to
later date.
There being no further business on motion by J. H. Compton and
seconded by Floyd Jones that meeting adjourn.
