The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor
C. A. Forbes, Alderman, J. H. Compton, Floyd Engvall, A. W. Hoyt, Jr.
Floyd Engvall, Kennis Wilcox, Jr., Lee C. Black, City Manager, H. A. Partain.
Assistant City Manager, Claud Eads, City Secretary, Dan Dowd&, Chief of
Police, W. K. McClain, City Attorney, Lenard McLaughlin, Fire Marshall,
C. E. Harris, Jr. Jim Janetsky..
Manager Black read reports for the month of January and submitted
General Fund bills in the amount of $ 528.32. Motion by J. H. Compton
and seconded by A. w. Hoyt, Jr., that reports be accepted and bills be
paid.
Duncan MoNitschke discussed at length the number of tickets being
given students on the Southwestern Campus.
Manager Black read Resolution of Respect, in memory of Marsh Fawn
Smith, Deceased. Motion by A. W. Hoyt, Jr, and seconded by Floyd Engvall
that Resolution be spread on minutes and copy be sent to the .Smith family.
The following motion made by J. H. Compton and seconded by Floyd Jonesp
WHEREAS, there are certain taxes assessed against Lot or Lots
in Block Glasscock Addition, Georgetown, Texas. for the Years,
and
1939 , 1941 , 1942 din the name of B. M. McLaughlin and
w
ViHEREAS, upon sufficient evidence presented to the Council that
said tax was paid in a compromise agreement with B. H. McLaughlin: and
WHEREAS, said tax has been carried on the rolls by mistake since
said datest
Now therefore be it Resolved by the Council that said tax be stricken
from the delinquent tax roll of the City and that the tax , penalty and interest
for the above years be severed from the rolls and mark it paid in full as
per the above settlement with B. H. McLaughlin.
Said motion carried by unanimous vote.
C. E. Harris, 'jr, state that the Optimist Club had conducted meeting
and discussed ways and means to put into operation a program for the better-
ment of the youths in Georgetown.

Manager Black read a letter of application from Aubrey
Nobles requesting permission to operate flying school at the Georgetown
Municipal Airport, also reply of request written by W. K. McClain City
,*ttor}zey. Since application did not contain sufficient information to
be appraised by the Council of this type of operation, the facilities
needed and whether not a full time operation is contemplated. Therefor
onv Motion by Floyd Be Jones and seconded by J. H. Compton, Mr. Nobles
request knd the same is hereby rejected.
Motion by A. W. Hoyt, Jr., and seconded by Kennie Wilcox, Jr,
that lianager Black secure bids to replace the City Police car.
There being no other business on Motion by J. H. Compton and
seconded by Floyd Engvall that meeting adjourn.
