April 11, 1960.
The City Council met in regular session following present, Mayor C. A. Forbes,
Alderman, Compton, Jones, Hoyt, 11.1ilcox, Fredericson, H. A. Partain Assistant
Manager, Vi, K. McClain, Attorney, C. S. Sanders, Assessor & Collector, Dan Dowda
Chief of Police, Claud Eads, Secretary, Lee C. Black, City Mana-er, and Lenard
McLaughlin, Fire Marshall.
Minutes of previous meeting were read and on motion Compton seconded
by Hoyt, minutes were approved.
City Yanager read monthly reports and submitted General Fund bills for
approval in the amount of 0708.66. On motion of Wilcox seconded by Hoyt, reports
were approved and bills approved for payments.
Mr. wyatt and Mr. Wilkerson representing Lone Star Gas Co. presented a
letter requesting gas rate increase. On motion of E. K. Fredericson, seconded
by Hoyt, an ordinance was presented for 1st. reading was read in full " An
ordinance fixing and determining the general service rate to be charged for
sales of natural gas and gas services to residential and commercial customers
within the City limits of Georgetown and providing for a manner in which such
rates may be changed, adjusted and amended." Votes Ayes, Compton, Jones,
Wilcox, Hoyt, Fredericson. Noes- None .
An Ordinance presented amendidg the regulating of the handling of
volatile or explosive liquids. Motion by Fredericson, seconded by Jones,
that ordinance be read first reading roll call vote was as follows. Ayes,
Compton, Jones, Hoyt, '�iilcox, Frederiscon, Noes- None. Ordinance read in full.

Second Reading. I-dotion by 4ilcox seconded by Compton that ordinance
contains the emergency clauses and that usual rules for passing of the ordinance
be suspended and the ordinance be read by caption hereafter. Roll call vote.
Ayes, Compton, Jones, Fredericson, Hoyt, Wilcox, Noes- None.

Third Reading. M'otioa by Jones seconded by Wilcox, ordinance be read
by caption third and final reading, roll call vote, Ayes, Compton, Jones,
Hoyt, Fredericson, Wilcox, Noes— None. Mayor declared ordinance passed.

City Manager was instructed,to motify School Board that City would
purchase the tax records, compiled by P. L. Marquess Company as outlined
in letter dated March 26th, 1960 in the amount of 14,500,00.
Mayor appointed committee of Compton, Hoyt and Wilcox to canvass
returns of City election held April 5th, 1960 to elect Mayor and two
alderman.
