Partain Assistant Manager, 47. K. McClain Attorney, C. S. 'Sanders, Assessor & Collector, Dan Dowda Chief of Police, Claud Eads, Secretary, City Employees, L. G. Glover and J, D, Tinning, Ordinance abandoning a portion of Benton Street and 20th, Streets The following is the caption and was presented by Ordinance committee, A, W. Hoyt, Jr, who moved that same be read in fulls An Ordinance of the City of Georgetown that the City Council abandon a portion of Benton Street between block 14 & 15 d 9 and 10, and that portionof 20th, street between Block 9 and 14 and block 10 & 15• All in Sparks addition of City of Georgetown (See Ordinance Book Page .L4.dc_. ) . Motion to read in full seconded by Compton and was passed by following vote Ayes - Compton, Jones, Hoyt, Wilcox, Noes, None. Ordinance read in full. On Motion of Jones that the ordinance containing the emergency clause that the usual rules of passing ordinance at separate meetings be and are hereby suspended, and passed to second reading, hereafter be read by caption following being the vote, Ayes, Compton, Jones, Hoyt, Wilcox, Noes- None. Ordinance by caption. On motion of Wilcox seconded by Hoyt the ordinance was passdd to third reading by the following Ayes, Campton, Jones, Hoyt, Wilcox, Noes- None. Mayor Forbes declared the said ordinance as finally passed. RESOLUTIONS Deed abandon Streets in Spark Addition 71hereas, The City of Georgetown by ordinance duly adopted by its City Council, has abandoned the streets and land hereinafter described, and likewise by ordinance duly adopted by City Council has authorized the sale and transfer of the same to C. E. Cauntt, Trustee. (See Ordinance Book Page / 9't . ) On motion of Campton seconded by Jones that resolution be passed. Passed and approved March 14, 1960 by unanimous vote. A letter from Attorney, Turman 0. Quinn concerning zoning of Georgetown was read. 211 After discussing Mayor was authorized to appoint a zoning commission, consisting of three men, and to proceed with the steps to zone the City. City Manager was instructed to invite the different bond men to meet with the Council on Monday Lurch 21st, 1960 at 7:30 P,M, A request for a permit to install a private.bulk storage gasoline tank on their premises was presented by Three Way Grain Co. After discussion permit was granted. See Ordinance Book Page / 8 There appearing no further business, on motion of A. We Hoyt, Jr. seconded by Kennie Wilcox, Jr., council adjourned.
