HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 08.11.1958 CC-RAugust 11, 1958 The City Council met ip-t pular session with the following presents Mayor Forbes - Aldermen Compton - Freund and Wilcox - Manager Black - Asst. Manager Partain City A ttorney McClain •- Chief of Police Pickle and Seeretary McCook. Minutes of regular meeting July ILS and special meeting July 17 read. Minutes of regular meeting admended to record Mayor Forbes as present. Minutes approved with proceeding change. Manager Black then read the reports for the month of July and submitted bilis for the General Fund in the amount of $889.40. On motion of Alderman Wilcox - seconded by Freund - reports approved. On motion of Alderman Compton - seeonded by Freund - bills approved for payment. Manager Black then read a report from the State Fire insurance Engineers projecting the growth of the city and recommendations for improvements of the Fire Department to meet this growth. Manager Black reported a need for a new electrical ordinance for the city and after a discussion, on motion of Alderman Compton - seconded by Freund, motion carried to give new ordinance its first reading. Mayor Forbes then reported that a letter was received from the Business Womens League requesting a traffic light at the intersection of Eight and Church and that a letter had been mailed in reply stating that the city would make a survey of the situation and take proper action. Manager Black then led a discussion of the Municpalities Employees Rettrement Program. The council took no action for the present.
