The City Council met on the above date in a called session, the following
were present.
Mayor C. A. Forbes, Councilmen. J. H. Compton, Elmer Fredericson, Ralph Freund
Floyd Jones & Kennie Wilcox Jr. Manager Lee C. Black, Assistant Mgr. H. A.
Partain.
Representing the Chamber of Commerce and the Committee for the Weselyan
Home were, Sam Brady, Don Scarborough, William R. Eanes, & Wm. S. Lott.
The meeting was call in regards to a site for the Weselyan Home that is
being considered for Georgetown.
Mr. Compton explained what the representatives of the home would like
to be done.
Mr. Brady explained what options the Chamber of Commerce held on real
estate being considered for the site of the home.
After a lenghty discussion on the matter by the Council and the repre-
sentatives of the Chamber of Comerce and the Vleselyan Homes a motion
was made by Councilman J. If. Compton and seconded by Councilman Freund
that the city of Georgetown sell to the Chamber of Commerce the track
of land 24U# X 24U' on twelfth street known as the City Park as recorded
in the deed for the sum of $ 13,5U0.00 with the stipulation that this
land be used for the 1;eselyan home, and that in return the Chamber Of
Commerce sell to the City Of Georgetown the property that is now under
consideration for the site and that the Chamber of Commerce holds Options
on, this,,bein; the Eaneg Property and the Montgomery property excluding
the Montgomery house.
After being brought to a vote the votes were. Ayes ; Compton,Fredericson,
Freund, Jones, Wilcox. Noes:NONE
There being no further business the council adjourned.
