HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 05.12.1958 CC-R184 ' e --w May l2, 1958 Cx: The City Council met in a regular meeting with the following present; Mayor Forbes - Aldermen Compton, Fredericson, Freund, Jones and Wilcox; Manager Black - Assistant Partain - City Attorney McClain - Chief Pickle and Dowdy of Police Department - Secretary McCook - Dr. Oscar Bryson of Williamson County Health Department and Mr. Brennan and Mr. Allen of The Southwestern States Telephone Company. Minutes of the previous meetings read and on notion of Alderman Compton - seconded by Wilcox minutes approved as read. Manager Black then read reports for the month of April and submitted bills in the amount of 51017.55 for approval of payment against the General Fund. Af66r correction of error in bill for Fire Department, on Motion of Alderman Compton - seconded by Freund, bills approved for payment. Mayor Forbes then called on Dr. Bryson who requests that the Council authorise& the payment of 5200.00 per month to the budget of the Williamson County Health Unit for the fiscal year July 1, 1958 to July 1, 1959. On Motion of Alderman Fredericson - seconded by Jones - council approved payment as requested. Mayor Forbes then invited the representatives of the telephone company to enter in the discussions of the Council and presented them with the offer of a rate increase as authorised by the special meeting of May 5, 1958. After a general discussion the offer was accepted by the representatives of the telephone company. A motion was made by Alderman Compton - seconded by Wilcox - that the telephone rate ordinance be read. Motion carried. TEIEPHONE RATE ORDINANCE - See Ordinance Book, Page No:�-5-- - The new telephone rate ordinance was read by Alderman Fredericson and the Roll Call vote ms as follows; Ayes - Compton, Fredericson, Freund, Jones and.Wilcox - Nays, None. Manager Black then requested Council approval of a standard construction agreement with the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company for the construction of a six inch water main on railroad property. On motion of Alderman Fredericson - seconded by Jones - construction agreement was approved. Mayor Forbes read a letter of appreciation from President Finch of Southwestern University thanking the council for their support on the dedication of the Bishops Memorial Student Building.
