The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor J. T. Atkin pre-
siding the following were present, Alderman, J. H. Compton, Elmer Fredericson,
Ralph Freund, Kennie Wilcox, Jr. & A. C. Woodfin, Lee C. Black, City Manager, H. A.
Partain, Assistant City Manager, A. P. Pickle, Chief of Police, W.H. Nunn, City
Attorney, I. J. McCook, Secretary.
Mr. Brennan and Mr. Allen representing the Southwestern States Telephone Company.
John Cardwell and Don Scarbrough representing the Williamson County Sun.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read on motion of Alderman Freund, seconded by
Alderman Frederioson were approved as read.
Mayor Atkin turned the meeting over to Mr. Brennan and Mr4.Allen who presented their
case to the Council in regards to a raises in telephone rates in the City of Georgetown.
Council promised consideration and study of their request and would notify them of a
meeting in the future.
City Manager Lee Black read his monthly reports for January and the reports of other
officials and accounts to be approved and paid in the amount of $ 588.91. Motion
w4s made by Alderman yvoodfin and seconded by Alderman Compton that bills be paid and
reports approved for filing.
SALARY ORDINANCE; For the ensuing term Alderman Fredericson presented the Salary
Ordinance and moved that same be read in full, motion seconded by Alderman Woodfin,
motion was passed by the following votes, Ayes, Compton, Fredericson, Freund, Wilcox,
Vloodfin, Noes- none. ( Ordianoe read see page # 151 in ordinance book ) Motion was
made by Alderman Freund that the usual rule for passing ordinances be suspended because
of the emergency clause and same be read by caption, passed its second reading, the
motion' -carried by the following Ayes- Compton, Fredericson, Freund, Wilcox, Woodfin ,
Noes -none. Ordiance read by option . On motion of Alderman Wilcox, seconded by Ald-
erman lioodfin laid ordinance -passed its third reading, the following being the votes,
Ayes, Compton, Freund, Fredericson, Viilcox, Woodfin. Ordinance being duly passed all
members voting Ayes.
TAX ORDINANCE
It was moved by Ilderman Freund and seconded by Alderman Woodfin that
tax ordinance for the ensuing term be read in full, motion carried with the following
votes, AYES- Compton, Freund. Fredericson, Wilcox, Woodfin, Noes- none. Ordinance
read see Page # 152 Ordinance Book.
Motion made by Alderman Woodfin, seconded by Alderman Wilcox that the above ordinance
contain the emergency clause, therefore the usual rules for passing ordinances be sus-
pended, the :same read: by caption here after and passed its second reading by the
following votes, AYES, Compton, Freund, Fredericson, vlilcox, Woodfin. Noes -None.
ORP.INANCE READ BY CAPTION . On motion of Alderman Freund seconded by Alderman,
Fredericson, gaid ordinance was passed to its third and final reading. Following
was the vote, AYES, Compton, Fredericson, Freund, Wilcox, Woodfin, Noes - none.
Ordinance read by Caption i On motion of Alderman, ivilcox, seconded by Alderman
Freund, id Ordinance was finally passed, the following being the votes, AYES -
Compton, Freund, Fredericson, Wilcox, Woodfin. NOES- None.
Mr. Black read the bids submitted on the painting of the Water Reservoir, below are
the bids.

Lamb 1.800.00
This business was passed until next regular meeting.
Bids were opened for the purchase of a new police car, bids were as follows.
Bud Fowler Auto Co. ---------- $ 1,500.00
Southwestern Motors ----------- 1,378.80
Compton Chevrolet Coo ------- --- 1,321.00
Motion made by Alderman Woodfin, seconded by Alderman Freund, that low bid of
Compton Chevrolet Co. be accepted.
There being no further business on motion of Aldermn Wilcox seconded by Alderman
Freund, the Council adjourned.
