Atkin presiding, The following were present, Alderman: J. H. Compton, Elmer Frederioson, Ralph A. Freund, A. C. INoodfin, Kennie j+ilcox Jr, City Manager Lee C. Black, Assistant Manager H. A. Partain, Chief Of Police, A. P. Pickle, City Attorney ;q. h. Nunn and Tax Collector & Assessor C. S. Sanders, Dr. Frey and Mrs. Slaughter with the Williamson County Health Department. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and were approved with changes on a motion by Alderman: Freund seconded by Alderman: Woodfin, Manager Black read his report for the month of April and the reports of other City Officials and accounts to be approved in the amount of $727.36 on a motion by Alderman Compton seconded by Alderman Wilcox, the accounts were ordered paid and the reports filed. Dr. Frey made a talk to the Council in regards to more money to operate the Williamson `%ounty health limit for the next year, on a motion of Alderman Fredericson seconded by Alderman Compton, the Council voted unanimously to an increase of $200.00 (dollars) per year, making a total of $2,400.00 per year. Mayor Atkin read letters from Senator;. Lyndon B. Johnson and Congressmen, Homer Thornberry, W. R. Poage and Omar Burleson. The Council approved the cleaning of San Gabriel Park as quickly as can be done. The fly and Mosquito program must be carried and have first priority. Georgetown, Texas June 10,1957 169 The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor J. T. Atkin presiding . The following were present , Alderman J. H. Compton, Elmer Fredericson and A. C. Woodfin. Officials Lee C. Black, City Manager, H. A. Partain, Assistant City Manager, L. G. Glover General Supt., Andy Pickle, Chief of Police, vi. H. Nunn, City Attorney, and Calvin Sanders, Tax Collector. Visitors, Joe Barnes, School Superintendent and Mr. Owen F. Jensen representing Layne Texas Drilling Co. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and on motion of Alderman Fredericson and seconded by Alderman Compton were approved as read. City Manager Lee Black read his report fot the month of May and the reports of other City officials and accounts to be approved and paid in the amount of $762.76 on the motion of Alderman Woodfin and seconded by Alderman Compton the accounts were ordered paid and all reports were approved for filing. Resolution of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas on motion of Alderman Frederioson and seconded by Alderman Woodfin, acknowledging and accept- ing letter from Georgetown Garden Club and letter from a group of cittsens living on West 12th Street. Resolved that the City Council accept letter from the garden Club and from a group of citizens living on West 12th. Street wishing to thank them for their kind exprestiah regarding the function preformed by the City in its efforts to improve our City by making it a safer and better place in which to live. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETCNN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING T'IE EXECUTION OF A LEASE CONTRACT WITH MTTUAL LUMBIM COMPANY AND GEORGETOWN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT. On motion of Alderman, Compton and seconded by Alderman, Fredericson, the following resolution was passed by unanimous vote. Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas at a regular meeting of said Council, that a lease agreement and contract between the said City and Mutual Lumber Company and Georgetown Independent School, covering a part of San Pabriel Park in said City, said lease agreement to be O L for an aggregate term of Twenty-five years, beginning on the 1st. day of June 1957, and ending on the 31st, day of May, 1982, is hereby approved, and the Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed to execute the same, a copy which said lease agreement is to be placed in the minutes of said City Council for a more complete description of said lease agree- ment and for all other pertinent purposes. el RD PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 10th DAY OF JM,!E, 1957• ATTESTS J. Mr. Owen F. Jensen, representing Layne Texas Company met with the Council and offered a Contract for the completion of the #4 well in the San Gabriel Park. Mr. Jensen's contract price was $14,000.00 for completion of this well plus $7,000.00 for the drilling of 3 other test wells and cleaning and replacing of parts, painting pump pipe, adding one pump boivl to each well to increase production. Testing well #1 and #2 to check the flow* total price for all work to be $21,000.00.
