HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 09.05.1956 CC-S153 Georgetown, Texas September 5th, 1956. The City Council Was in a called session at 5:00 p, me on the above date, Mayor J. T. Atkin presided. The three members of the Council present were Aldermen A. C. Woodfin, Be K. Fredericson, Kennis Wilcox, Jr. Other members were Manager Lee C. Black and Asst. Manager, H. A. Pertain, M. L. Cates, sedretary. The meeting was called by the Mayor to pass on the following urgent Business: AN ORDINANCE. The following Ordinance of which the following is the Caption was presented by Ordinance Committeeman Aldo Be K. Fredericson, who moved that the same be read in fulls "An Ordinance providing for the Construction and. Maintenance of the portion of R. M. HIGHWAY NO 2338 in the city of Georgetown, Witi.tamson County, Texas, herein above referred to as"THH STREET PROJECT" and authorizing the Mayor of the City to execute and the City Secretary to affix the Corporate Seal and attest the same, a certain contract between the City and The State of Texas providing for the installation, construction, maintenance, existence, and use of said street project for the indemnification of The State of Texas, by the City against all damages to adjoin- ing, abutting and other property, and for the expenses in*eon- nection with any claim or suit thereof; and declaring an emergency as providing that the ordinance shall be effective from and after the date of passage." (See Ordinance in full on page of City Ordinance Book.) The motion to read in full was seconded by Aldo Toodfin , and was passed by the following votes Ayes-- Woodfin, ^redericson, 'ilcox. Noes --none. The ordinance was read in full. On motion of Aldo Wilcox that the ordinance containing the emergency clause, that the usual rules of passing. ordinances at the separate meetings be and are hereby suspended, and passed tdaits second reading, hereafter to be read by caption only. Aldo Freder- icson seconded the motion which passed , the following being the vote: Ayes--Woodfin, Fredericson, Wilcox. Noes --None, Ordinance Read by Caption. On motion by Ald.'Yoodfin, seconded passed to its third reading, by the Woofing Fredericson. Nones--none. Ordinance read by Caption. by Ald. Wilcox the ordinance was following vote. Ayes- Wilcox, On motion of Ald: Woodfin, seconded by Aldo Tileox the said ordi- nance was passed its third and final reading by the following votes Lyres--Wileox,Fredericson,Woodfin. Noes --none. Mayor Atkin declered the said ordinance as passed finally. MU*1ICIpAL CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT RESOLUTION. The Construction Agreement was read, and on motion by Wilcox, see-.. onded by Woodfin the said agreement was passed by the following vote; Ayes--Iffoodfin, Wilcox, Fredericsob. Noes --none. (SeeOrd.
