Atkin offioiating, the LhlJowing members being pres- ent: Aldermen: J. H. Compton, B. K. Fredericson, Ralph.Freund# Kennie Wilcox, Jr.,'M, C. Woodfin: Members: Lee C._Blaeke City Manager; H. A. Partain, Asst, Mgr,;"W. H. Nunn,'attorney; A. P. Pickles chief of police; M. L. Cates, Secretary. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and on motion of Aldo Comptong seconded by Aldo Fredericson, were approved. Manager Black read his annual report, together'with'the'usual reports of city officials, and bills amounting to $508.79.'On motion of Aldo Woodfin, seconded by Freund, the reports were received and filed, and the accounts ordered paid. A motion was made by Aldo Wilcox and seconded by Ald. Freund, that the City Manager be authorized to deposit with the Austin Savings and Loan Bank of Austin, Texast'$4000.00 of the Cit V. 'a Social Securtty Fund, and $5000.00 of the Cit' to Meter Fudd,'at an agreed'' 3% interest annually# compounded semiadnually, with the option of vi withdrawing the said deposits when needed. The 'said deposit is se- cured up to $10,000.00 by a Federal Agency. The motion carried unanimously. On motion of Aldo Fredericson, seconded by A1dd.'Compton that City of Georgetown, renew the agreement as heretofore made with the Williamson County Health Unit, was passed unanimously. Due to drouth conditions, Aldo Freund moved that the certain acreage of land leased to Mr. Neal Landry, as contracted for two years at $2.00 peacre , that the last year of said lease be hereby reduced to 1.50 per acre for the last year of said lease,'beginning June 19 1956 to June 19 1957. The motion was seconded by A1d.Compton, and was carried unanimously. A Motion was made by Aldo Comptong seconded by Ald. Fredericson thAt the City employ an additional policeman, and that consideration of Mr. Dan Dowda who was recommended to date, be contacted' with reference to said position. The suggested salary about $265.00 per month. The motion carried. It was announced by Mayor J:*T..Atkin That Mrs. Sudie Lee Robertson had made an offer to the City of Georgetown, Texas, whereby she'would sell and convey to the said City the North one-half of Lot No. 5# of Block No. 519 of said city,and being the property owned by her that adjoins the City Hall property on the Northq for a consideration' of $6000.009 to be paid 60 monthly taatatteente, of the sum of $_100.00 each# the first installment to be paid on the lst day of Junep 1956, and that each remaining installsrentp to become due and. payable 1n _ its order, on the first day of each month, following the.due date'of the last preceding installment; with the option gn the part of the City, to pay all or any number -of the"said installments, at any time, prior to maturity should it desire to do so. That each in- stallment to bear interest from the maturity date thereof at the rate of 6% per annum."That the said consideration, is to be secured by a vendor's lien retained against the property sold$ till the entire ' indebtedness is fully paid; to be evidenced by a vendor's lien note, in the usual form,exeeuted by the City. That a motion was thereupon made by Alderman J. H. Comptong and seconded by Alderman Ralph .Freund, that the City accept the said offer on the said terms and that the proper vendor's lien note be execute& by the City# and that the Mayor be directed to deliver tbec6a&dtN6VB_ho.fbe..ae1ler when she shall have executed and delivered to the City a proper deed to the said property# and that there be and is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the General Revenues of the said City an amount sufficient to pay off and discharge the said obligation, at any time that the City may decide to pay same. Representatives of The Southwestern States Telephone Company met with the Couneil�to discuss the recently proposed new rates for the Georgetown Exchange which originally a 100% was presented.
