The City Council met in regular session on the date above, Mayor "
J. T. Atkin presiding, the following aldermen and officers were pres-
ent: Aldermen: J. H. Compton, B. K. ^rederieson, Ralph Freund, Ken-
nie Wilcox, A. C. ?Voodfin. Officialss Lee C. Black, city manager;
H. A. Fartain, Assistant Manager; W. H. Nunn, attorneyf C. S. Sanders,
assessor -collector; A. P. Pickle, chief of police; M. L. Cates, Sec-
retary.
The minutes 6f the previous meeting were read and approved, on motion
of Aid. Compton, seconded by Aid. Woodfin,
Manager Bleak read his monthly repojdrt and the reports of other city
officials, and the accounts amounting to $504.29 for approval. On
motion of Aid. :Voodfin, seconded by Aid. Wilcox, reports were received
forfiling and the accounts were ordered paid.
Lenard McLaughlin fire inspector made a verbal report of inspections
to date, statin; he had found a number of faulty gas connections and
other hazards which when attention of same were called to the occu-
pants were appreciated and corrected.
The City Health TTnit made an agreeable detailed report of its work
in the city.
The TAX ORDINANCE was presented By Alderman ?T,. K. Predericson, who
moved that it be read in full and the motion was seconded by Aid.
Freund and was carried by the following v66e: Ayes --Compton, Fred-
ericson, Freund, Wilcox, `ffoodfin. Noes --None. SAad Ordinance is re-
corded in full on Page 109 of Ordinance Book, as a part of the
minutes of this session.
The above named Tax Ordinance contained the emergency Clause, there-
fore Aid filcox made a motion the usual rules of passing ordinances
by reading same at three successive meetings be suspended and that
hereafter it be read by caption only and be passed its second rend-
ing. The motion was seconded by Aid. Toodfin, After Caption was read
the ]Aotionriswas carried , the following being the vote: Ayes--
77oodfin, Fredericson, Freund, Tilcox, 'Voodfin. ''Toes --None.
The Ordinance was read by Caption --the rules forireading bnving:�been
previously suspended, on motion of Aid. Compton that the same bepassed
its third and final reading, which motion was seconded by Aid. ^red-
ericson and was carried by the following vote: Ayes --Compton, Freund,
Fredericson, Woodfin, 7Vileox. 'Noes --None.
SALARY ORDINANC3 (Seepage 119 Ord. Book
for Ordinance in Null.)
The SALARv Ordinance was rresented tbe1.HeuHouncil by Aid. Frederieson,
who moved that it be read in full and the motion was secoended by
Aid.wilcox, and was carried by the following vote: Ayes --Compton,
Fredericson, ;Freund, 'Vilcox, Woodfin. Noes --None. See Ordinance as res
corded in full on page 110 of Ordinance, as a part of these minutes.
The above named Ordinance containing the emergency Clause, the usual
rules of reading the same at three different meeting, a motionvwre
made by Aid. Fredericson that the said rules be hereby suspended, that
the said ordinance be hereafter sbenreaddby Caption, and be passed its
second reading. The motion was seconded by Aid. Wilcox. The Ordinance
was read by Caption, and carried by the following vote: Ayes: Fred-
ericson, Freund, Compton, fiilcox,',Voodfin. Noes --?None.
Ordinance was read by Caption, the usual rules having been suspended,
a Notion was made by Aid. Compton th-t the same be passed its third and
final reading which was seconded by Aid. 'Fredericson and was passed, the
following being the vote: Ayes --Compton, Fredericson, .Freund, Wilcox,
Woodfin. Noes --None.
Both the abovw ordinances were declsted duly passed.

Bids were opened for a ]Dicba.ge Pick -Un Body. Ald. Preund made a motion
that the Council be instructed to negotiate the deal with the ITyde
Pack Corporation which bid was $3270.759 pending size and price on cha.sis.
A motion was made by Ald. ^rer,ericson, seconded by Ald. 7reung that that
the secretary of the fire department be paid X10.00 per month for his
secretarial services.
