The City Council met in regular session on the above date
Mayor J.T.Atkins presiding, the following were present.
Alderman. J.H.Bompton, E.K.Frederieson, Ralph Freund, A.C.
Woodfin and Kennie Wilcox Jr. Officials; City manager
Lee C. Black, Asst. H.A.Partain , Attorney W.H.Nunn, Chief
Of Police A.P.Pickle.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved on
motion of J.H.Compton and seconded by Ald. Elmer Frederieson.
City Manager Lee Black submitted his regular monthly
report, also the monthly report of the City Officials and
statements of all bills for approval ',and payment in the
amount of $ 623.55 , on motion of Ald. J.H.Compton and
seconded by Ald. Frederieson. the reports were received
and filed and all bills were ordered paid.
On motion of Ald.'Kennie Wilcox Jr. and seconded by Ald.
Ralph $"round the council passed the following resolutioA
of respect in memory of O.B.Boyd , Deceased.
RESOULUTION;
Whereas; providence has seen fit to remove
from our midst our friend and fellow townsman, Mr. 0. B.
Boyd.
Whereas; He was for 37 years connected with the City Of
Georgetown, A faithful employe in the water and light
department.
ThERE:FORF.; be it resolved, first that the City Council
of Georgetown in regular session express its deep regrets
because of the loss to our community. his life was dedica-
ted to his work and to making of Georgetown a better place
in which to live.
5'ECOND; That we tender our heartfelt sympathies to those
whom he has left behind.
LATELY; That these resolutions be spread upon the minutes
and that a copy be sent to his family;

Upon motion of Ald. Ralph Freund and seconded by Ald.
A.C.Woodfin the following were reappointed to serve for
another yegr on the Board of Equilization. Gilbert
Bredthauer, J.J.Jones Jr. Edward Lee Evans.
Upon Motion.of Ald. Kennie Wilcox and Seconded by Ald.
A.C.Woodfin, Mr Claude Eads was appointed to secure the
nessary help and audit the books for the year 1954.
A motion by Ald. Frederieson and Seconded by Ald. Compton
authorizing managakLee Black , and the Audit & Tax Committee
Ald. Kennie Wilcox , and Ralph Freund to obtain the service
of a Certified Public Accountant to set up a modern and up
to date set of books in the City Office , the se books to be
set up so they can be .audited each year by an accountant at
a minimum expense, the audit and tax committee are to work
with Manager Lee Black in this.
RECONSTRUCTION & MAIIIMNANCE HWY # 29
WITH TEXAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT.
A Reconstruction and Maintenance agreement on Highway # 29
.(12th. St ) with hhe Texas Highway Department was presented
to the City Council, Agxeemetht. was read,On I.otxion of Ald. J.H.
