The City Council met in regular session on the Pbove dnte, Ynyor
J. T. Atkin presiding, The following were present. Aldermen --J. H.
Compton, E. Y. Fredericson, F. C. Smith, A. C. I800dfin, and Kennie
Wilcox, Jr. Officials: City Manager Lee C. Black; Assistant Partain;
N. 'i. Nunn, attorney; C. S. Sanders, assessor -collector; A. P. Pickle,
chief of police;m Y. L. Cates, secretary.
Minutes of the last regular and adjourned sessions were approved,
on motion of Ald. -.Jilcox, Seconded by Ald. Compton.
Manager Lee 8. Black submitted his regular onthly report, also the
monthly reports of city officials and statements of bills for ap-
proval and payment in the amount of $535.43. Manager Black also
included the annual financial report, furnishing a copy to each
Alderman and the Mayor. On motion of Ald. Compton, seconded by
Ald. Fredericson , the reports were received and filed ad bills
ordered paid.
On motion of Ala. .Yoodfin, seconded by Ald. rredericson, Yanager Black
was authorized to use balance in the Carver Park Fund for expense
in-curred in removal of a barracks building And repairing, to the
said Carver Park.
American hegion Resolution
A Resolution of which the following is Caption was pesented:
"Resolution of the City of Georgetowen, Texrs, giving consent, and
authorizing the American Legion to create and place a lien upon lots
three and four iia block 2t twenty-nine Glasscock Addition, to the
City of Georgetown, Texas, and the building thereon to the amount of
$2,800.00." The resolution as on Page No. Resolution book, was
read in full.
Motion by Ald. Fredricsong seconded by Ald. Smith, that same be
passed, was carried unanimously.
The individuals officials of the city and councilmen and severiLl
Yisitore tbo were at the council meeting in March contributed to a
fund of $15 to be given to the person who suggested a name for
the AYA building, to be approved by the Council. Of the names sug-
gested "San Gabriel Center" vby Yrs. 'Paul Anderson, was decided upon
and the $15.00 awarded accordingly.
Mayor Atkin appointed Aldermen ^rederie®on and yYoodfin to canvas the
returns of the municipal Election held on the 5th day of April, 1955.
The committee repotteddas follows: "that there were 54 votes cast and
that each candidate received votes as follows:
For Alderman:...Ralph ?ireund 54 votes
J. H. Compton 51 "
Kennie '"ilcoxJr52 It
There being three to be elected, we find that each received
a majority of the votes cast, therefore each were elected without

Mayor J. T. Atkin Administered the oath of office to each elected
Alderman.
The following officials were reappointed by the Mayor for their
regular two-year terms.:
