The City Council met in rerul,-r serlGio-1 on thA above da,t+*, 111pyor J. T.
Atkin presiding, the following sldermen and officisls`of`thd city
were present: Aldermen J. IT. C-)mpton, T. 1". rederieson, F. C. Smith,
Kennie ,Silcox, Jr., snd A. C. Woodfin. 'NanAger Lee C. '31ack, 'V. H.
Nunn, ^ttorney; C. S. S.^nders, assessor -collector; J. 7rank Clark,

health officer; A. P. Pickle, chief of police; IT, A. Partain, Qsmistant
city manager and Y. L. Cates, GFcretnry.
On motion of A1d. Compton, seconded by Ald . ?rederieson the minutes of
the previous meeting were approved.
Manager 11!,ck read his motthly report, and the reportq of other city
officers, including $620.09 in bills for approvel to be paid. CIM motion
of Ald. �Iilcox, seconded by Ald. '7oodfin, the report wns received to
be filed end the accounts ordered paid.
The Auditing Committe►'s report for 1953 was reed and w^s received for f
filing, on motion of Ald. "loodfin, seconded by Ald. H. C. 'rederieson.
h.essrs. Gilbert -3redthauer and Isom, representing the Georgetown Cham-
ber of Commerce were present, and presented for consideration the
forming of a city planning board for the city, leading possibly to
the Zoning of the city at some future date. After some discussion the
Council voted as fav®ring a planning committee from the Chamber of
Commerce. The motion was made by Ald. Compton, seconded by Ala. Tilcox,
The Mayor named Messrs. Edward Fvans, Gilbert Bredthauer, aid J. J.
Jones to serve on the Tax Equalization 3oard. On oration of Ald.
Frederieson, seconded by Ald. ;Pileox that the Council ratify the
Mayor's appointments, whieh carried unanimously.
