Atkin presiding, the following were present: City VRnager Lee e. ''la.ek: Alderman: J. H. Compton, N; X.Fredericson, F. C. Smith, A. C. Woodfin, Yennie Wilcox Jr. 'ff. H. Nunn, Atty, for the City; C. S. Sanders, assessor -collector; A. P. Pickle, marshall; J. Frank Clark, city healh officer; I. L. Cates, Secretary. On motion of Ald. 'yilcox, the minutes fo the previous meeting of the Council were approved. The reports of City Mnna.ger Lee C. "Black and accounts amounting to 040.49.were ordered paid on motion of Ald. Compton The report of Assessor -Collector, C. S. Sanders were sppreved and ordered filed. THE TAX ORDINAN --Ordinance Committeeman Fredericson presented a Tax Ordinance for the ensueing term and moved that it be read. Alderman Smith seconded the motion which carried. The Ordinance was read. The aforesaid ordinance, as recorded in the Ordinance Book, contained the emergency clause, therefore Ald. F. C. Smith made a motion that the usual rules for passing ordinances be hereby suspended, that the orainance be passed to its second reading, and hereafter be read by CAption. Ald, J. H. Comrton seconded the motion, whiehrearrIed by the following vote: Ayesy-Compton, Fredericson, Smith, ;Voodfin, Noes --none. Ordinance read by Caption: On motion of Ald. Rennie '9ilcox Jr., seconded by Ald. F. C. Smith, the ordinance passed t6'1,ts,3rd-' reading by the following vote: Ayes --Compton, Fredericson, Smith, 7oodfin, 71ilcox. *Toes --none. Ordinance read by Caption: On motion of Ald. F. C. Smith , seconded by Ald. IVoodfin the tax ordinance was passed finely, by the follo^,ing vote. Ayes -- Compton, Fredericson, Smith, Toodfin, Wilcox. '.Noes --none. The Mayor declared the same duly passed. The SALARYORJINKTM--Ordinance Committeeman Fredericson presented ` for the ensuing term a Balary Ordinance, and moved the same be read. Ald F. C. Smith seconded the motion, which carried. The Ordinance was read in full: The above named Ordinance, as recorded in the Ordinance Book, contained en Hmerr*ney Clauee, therefore Ald. B. C. Smith moved that the usual'I rules for passing ordinances be hereby suspended,*and the same here- after be readby Caption and passei to its second reading. Ald. Compton seconded the motion, which passed. The following was the vote: Ayes --Compton, Fredericson, Smith, ffoodfin, �ilcpx. Noes --none. Ordinance read by Caption: Ald. 'Ailcox moved the ordinance be passed its 3rd reading. Ald. Compton seconded the motion, which passed as follows: Ayes --Compton, Fredericson, Smith, Woodfin, 'Vilcox. Moes --none. Ordinance Read by Caption: Ald. Smith moved the afore said Ordinance be finally passed. Ald. Compton seconded the motion which carried as follows: Ayes --Compton, Fredericson, Smith, "Tilcox, Woodfin. Noes --none. The Mayor declrre d the same duly passed. Vayor Atkin issued a call for the regular April election, naming C. S. Sanders as presiding Judge, which met rith Council a^proval.
