HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 03.12.1952 CC-S75 Georgetown.'Texas March 12, 1952 The City Council met in called session at 1;30 'p. in., on Ivrch 12th, 19529 Mayor C. S. Griffith presiding. Alderman present: J. T. Atkin, E. K. Fredericson, A. C. 'Toodfin, Kennie Wilcox and Ired c. Smith. City Manager Lee C. Blida, and L. G. Glover. The meeting was called to discuss the test "hole drilled by the Layne Texas Co., at the power plant site. Yr. 0. F. Jensen of the Layne Texas Co. and presented their findings at the water test well. On motion of Ald. Atkin, seconded by Ald. Smith the follow- ing motion was presented: "That a contract be made with the Layne Texas Co. to complete the present test well, set -casing 12191zbla C.D. to 90 feet, or to first water bearing strata, cement to surface by Halliburton method, to meet State Hes.lth.Board requirements, and drill Ili• inch diameter hole through the Ed7,Ards Limestone, to pump test well, then chemical tres.t with not less than 3000 gallons of chemical, then test well again for 24 hours continuous test•, then if the well needs treating again the contractor is to do so without any additional expense; ..contratcor to furnish new Layne deep well pump, having a capacity of 790 gallons of water per minute from the well with a 25 -foot head above ground level. Pump to be20 feet below the water -pumping level g po m. and equipped with vertical hollow shaft motor with sufficient horsepower to operate the pump without overload, and to furnish all starting equipment. "Contractor agrees to guarantee 750 gallons of water per minute fromwell for a period of one year from date of completed well. "The above is subject to a detail list of eouipment and 'specifications on well and pump, to be signed by both parties for a completed price of $119931.00. "This well to be completed within approximatley three weeks, and if new pumping equipment cannot be furnished on completion of the well contractor is to loan to city a pump of sufficient size until new pump can be delivered, without charge to the City of Georgetown.
