The City Council met in an adjourned session on the above date,
ra.yor C. S. Griffith rrpxixin*, the following were prevent: City
Va.narer Lee C. 7lack; Aldermen, J. T. Atkin, F. Y. ''redericson,
C. C. Hamilton, C. Smith and A. C. '"oodfin. Officials, A. P. ^ickle,
City Ifarshal; tri. 1. Cates, secretary, and *% F. '?unn, attorney for the
City.
A.motion was made by Ald. T-oodfin, and seconded by Ald. ^.*C. Smith,
that a committee be Appointed to meet with the Vayor and City Va.nager
to study further the raising of the telephone rates requested by the
Southwestern States Telephone7,,Cnmpraiyr,. The motion carried and the
Vayor appointed Aldermen Smith and 77oodfin, committeemen.
On the motion of Ald. Noodfin, seconded by Ald. Hrmilton that the City
Yanager be authorized to pry ?`r. IT. h. Larson, contractor, the balance
due him for the building of the foundation for the new `inter Tank, which
amount beim $4175.00. The motion carried.
An ordinance to amend the City C!Tk TTR so that hereafter the offices
of Tax -Assessor-Collector, City Treasurer, and City Secreta.ryf,64 .l' Q
Wl#,lbecome appointive officials, instead of elective as heretofore, wasI
again presented to the Council by Ordinance Committeeman Atkin, who
reread the same in full, after which it was in order that the said
ordinance be passed to its 2nd reading. Ald. Atkin then moved that
on account of said ordinance boutaining an emergency clause, that
all the usual rules usually apr7ing to the passing and heading of
ordinance be hereafter suspended, the ordinance be passed'to its
second re a sing and read by caption. Ald. C. C. Hamilton seconded the
motion and the motion carried by the following vote: .Ayes, Atkin,
Frederieson, HPmilton, Smith, Toodfin. ?Toes, none.

There being no opposing vote, the Vayor declared the sail Ordinance
duly and constitutionally passed,.
For the information of the Council the ''ayor had read to them
iqthe Order for Flection to be held the 3rd day of April, 1951, for the
election of three Aldermen for the ensuing term of two years.
