The City Council met in regular session on the above date,
P.!ayor Co S. Griffith presiding; Present;- Lee 8. Black, city manager,
Attorney for the City, 77. H. Nunn; Aldermen: J. T. Atkin, E. K.
Fredericson, C. C. Hamilton, F. C. Smith, A. C. Woodfin. Officers:
A. P. Pickle, city marshall; M. L. Cates, City Secretary,
The Yixutes of the previous session were approved.
Report of City Manager Black including the usual reports of city
officials and the accounts were read. The accounts amounted"to
$309.83. On the motion of Aldo Smith, seconded by'Ald. Frederieseni
the reports were filed and the accounts ordered paid.
On motion of Aldo C. C. HP,milton, seconded by Aldo g.T.'Atkin
there was transfered from the Utility Fund to the Special Utility
Fuad tke sum of $29000900.
�j The Carnival rrd inance was read at its THIRD reading. A motion was
mads- by Aldo A. C. Woodfin, seconded by Aldo C. C. Hamilton that the
said Ordinance be finally passed. The motiou'passed by the follow-
ing vote. Ayes --Atkin, Frederieson, Hamilton, Smith, Toodfin. Noes—
mone. The Mayor declared said Ordinance duly passed.
A GUN Ordinance prohibiting the firing of air rifles and other
gums in the City Limits was presented to tke Council Ordila.nce
Committeemen, J. T. Atkin, who moved the sane be read in full.
The notion was seconded by Ald. Fredericson, and was passed
unanimously. The Ordinance was reed and discussed.
The minimum water rrate was raised from $1.25 to $1.75, on the
motion of Aldo F. C. Smith, seconded by Aldo A. C. W 4fin,

Aldo C. C. Hamilton made a motion thst employees of th
receive salary increases, as follows: Thok6'lemployees
basis be increased $10.00 per momtly; thoseemployees
by the hour shall receive ars increase in wages of five
per hour, each retroactive thanugh September, 1950. The
seconded by Aldi-rnan Fredericson rind wa.s pnesed without
vote.
