The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor
C. S. Griffith presiding, the following being presents City Manager
Lee C. Black; Aldermen; J. T. ATKIN, rl-;?cK. Fredericson, C. C. Hamilton,
F. C. Smith, A. C. Woodfin. Officers, A. P. Pickle, city marshall,
T. H. Nunn, attorney for the city, M. L. Cates, secretary.
ON motion of Aid. Toodfin seconded by Aid. Smith the minutes of the
previous meetings were approved.
City Manager Lee C. ''lack read his monthly report, in cludind the re-
porst of city marshall and city treasurer, and bills and accounts
in the amount of $329.66. On motion of Aid. Atkin, seconded by Aid.
Fredericson, the reports were received for filing and all bills
ordered., pill.
In the matter of sewer extensions in the Nolen and Coffee additions
to the city, Mayor Griffith appointed the utilities committee, com-
posed of Aldo Atkin and Abd. Fredericson to study the conditions
existing in that neighborhood a.nd report to tke Council any sug-
gestions or recommendations pertaining thereto.
A motion was made by Alderman J. T. Atkin, and seconded by Aid. Woodfin
that the city advertise immediately for bids on the proposed purchase
and erection of a 50090009 water tank for the city. The motion carried,
without a dissenting vote.
A Ordinance pra6ctibtng the location of Carnivals in the City Limits
was presented to the Council by Ordinance Committeeman, J. T. Atkin,
who made a motion that it be read in full. The motion was seconded by
Alderman Woodfin, and carried by unanimous vote. The Ordinance was
read and discussed.
A motion was made and passed that the Council Adjourn to Aucâ–º,ust
let, 1950r the opening of bids on the water tank project, and such
other business as may be brought before it at that time.
