Those present: City Vanager Lee C. Black, Aldermen J. T. Atkin, C. C. Hamilton, W.F. Hoffman, Jr.,m Sari E. Harris, and Fred Cooper Smitk, Aldermen-elect:A. C. Woodfin and E. K. Frederickson. Officers: W. TH.'Nunn, attorne*'for tke city; A. P. Pickle, city marshal, Y. L. Cates, Secretary. On motion of Alderman Atkin, seconded by Aid. Smitk, minutes of tke previous sessions were anuroved. City Manager Blaek'rend kis montkly report, *hick included the reports of tke city treAmurer'knd city marshal and tke bills and secounte, amounting to 4462.23. On motion of Aid. Hoffman, sec. by Alderman Smitk, the reports were received and filed, and bills ordered paid. On motion of Aid. Hamilton, seconded by Ald.'Harris, approving tke suggestion of Manager Black, that x'49000.00 Be transferred from tke Utility Funds to tke Special Bond Fund, was approved unanimously. Ord.' Committeeman J. T. Atkin -presented anX ordinance 'per- twining to Highway lo4, and moved tke same be read in full. Tke motion carried. Ordinance read. On motion of Aid. Atkin, seconded by Ald.'Smitk, that tke Usual rules for passing nrdinances be'suspended, tke said foregoing Ordinance containing an emergency Clr1.use, tkat tate same be kereafter-read by caption, and passed tp its second rex.ding. Tke motion carried by tke following vote, Ayes: Atkin, Hamilton, Hoffman, Harris, Smitk, Noes --None. Ord, read by Caption. On motion of Aid. HoffmPn, sec. by Aid. Smitk, tknt tke rules be suspended and tke'smAd Ordinance be read by caption and passed to its tkird reading. Tke motion carried, tke following being tke vote.: Ayes: Atkin, Hamilton, Hoffman, Harris, Smitk. Noes --none. Ordinance read by Cartion. On tke motion of Alderman Smitk,'seeonded by Aid. Harris, 3 tke said Ordinance was passed fiy(nally by tke following vote: Ayes; Atkin, Hamilton, HoffmAn, Harris, Smitk. Noes --None. Tke Mayor declared tke Irdinance duly passed. Tke following committee was appointed by tke Mr..yor and approved by the Council to ckeck tke returns of the last elections neT')Atktx &ad FreorCodper Smitk. Tke Commitee repoted az follows: " To Hon. C. S. Griffitk, Mayor of tke City of Georgetown, Texas; NTe, your committee appointed to ckeck the returns of the City Election of April. 19509 report as follows: 0Te find: C.'S.'Griffitk for Mayor, received 59 votes Dr. C. H. Rickey re e d for Vnvor"' 2 votes Fnr Alderman, A. C. Woodfin received 63 votes. For Al. dermas, E. K. Frederickson, 60 votes. "Signed, J. T. Atkin Fred C. Smitk." Tke above report skowing, tkat C:-S.*Gritfitk receiving a majority of tke votes cast was duly elected as Mayor, and A. C. Woodfin and R. K. Frederickson received Back a majority of tke votes for Aldermen, eack were elected, witkout opposition. The Council adjourned to April 2?tk, 1950 for continuance of anticipated urgent business.
