HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 03.13.1950 CC-R39 March 139 1950 The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor C. S. Griffith presiding, the following were present: City Manager Lee C. Black, Aldermen, J. T. Atkin, T. P. Hoffmpn C. C. Hamilton and 7red Cooper Smith. officials: 'v. H. Nunn, attorney for the City; A. P. Pickle, marshal; M. L. Cates, secretary. On motion of Ald. Atkin, sec. by uoffmRn the minutes of the previous meeting were approved. City manager Black read his monthly report, in eluding the report of city treasurer, and the bills and accounts, amounting to $227.63. On motion of Ald. TToffman, sec. by alderman Atkin the reports were filed, and the bills ordered paid. A motion was made by Ald. Hamilton, and sec. by Ald. Atkin that the city manager transfer $59000.00 from the Utility Fund to the Special Bond Account. The motion carried. City Manager Black read a report on the burning of Bonds, which oceured on March 3rd, 1950, Viz; "Pater works bonds Issue of November 16th, 1893. Bonds Numbers 3, 4, 5, and 6. Public School Building Bonds, issue of Feb. ii, 1895. Bonds Numbers 19 29 3, and 4. Electric Light Rpnds, Issue of Dec, 5th, 1910. Bonds Numbers I to 13 inclusive. These series paid in full. Waterworks Bonds, isle of Dec. let, 1910. (outstanding and own- ed by the Georgetown Street Bond account are 17,22.23 and 24.) All other Bonds of this series from Numbers 1 to 32 inclusive, paid, cancelled and burned. �Paterworks second series, issue of Jan. 4, 1914. 'Sonde Num- bers 1 to 27 inclusive, paid cancelled and burned. Paving Bonds, issue of Jan. 19 1926. Bonds Numbers 1 to 64 inclusive, paid, cancelled and burned. Street Refunding Bonds, issue of July 1, 1935, Bonds "lumbers 1 to 26 inclusive, paid, cancelled and burned. Sewer Bonds, isse of Feb. lot, 1930, Bonds 'lumbers 1 to 72 inclusive, paid, cancelled and burned. Refunding School House Bonds, issue of Aug. 16, 1905. Bonds Numbers 1 to 15 inclusive. Paid last one march 15 1932, paid, can- celled and burned. City of Georgetown Street Ronda, issue of June let, 1922s (These bonds were called in and cancelledd when Stret Refunding Bonds were issued in 1935. Numbers 1 to 85 inclusive, all burned. Smith mad- a motion, which was seconded by Ald. Koffman, that the Mayor appoint a committee to draw up a renewal lease for the land heretofore leased by the Sheriffs posse at San Gabriel Park. The said Sheriffs posse requested a longer term lease, because of extensiv improvements contemplated by the posse. The motion carried. The Committee: City Manager Lee C. "Ilaek, T. T'. Hoffman Jr., C. C. Ham- ilton, and Fred Cooper Smith. FOOD HANDLER'S ORDINANCE Ordinance Committeeman Atkin presented to the Council "an Ordinance providing for and regulating the issuance and exhibition of Healtk Certfficates in the City of Georgetown, Texas, providing for pen- alties for Violation thereof, and dFcaring an emergency." and moved the same be read in full.The motion was seconded by Ald. Smith. and was passe by the Courcil. The Ordinance was read in full: On motion of *tkix Ald. Adkin, seconded by Ald Hoffman, That the usual rules requiring that ordinances be read at three successive meet4 ings be suspended hereafter on account of an emergency existing, that the same hereafter be read by Cation only and be passed to its second reading, was passed by the following vote; Ayes -Atkin, Hoffman H" end Smith.
