Griffith presiding, the following Aldermen and officials being present: Aldermen: J. T. Atkin, C. C. Hamilton, W. P. Hoffman, Jr., Sam Be Harris and Fred Cooper Smith, Officers: W. H. Hunn, Attorney for the City; M.L.Cates, Secretary, and City Manager Lee. C. Black. �l Fire Ordinance Ordinance Committeeman J. T. Atkin presented a Fire Ordinance, and moved that the same be read in full. frxmw#tgAXs:ExAIatz The motion was seconded by Ald. Hoffman, and was passed by the following vote. Ayes -- Atkin, Hoffman, Ramilton, Harris, Smith. Noes, None, The Ordinance we.s read in full --On motion of Ald. karris, seconded by Ald. Fred Coopar Smith, that on account of the emergency Clause the afam afore said ordinance contained, that the usual rules for passing ordiwa nances be suspended and the said ordinance be read by caption only and be pealed to its second reading. The motion carried by the following; vote. Ayes: Atkin, Hamilton, Voffinen� Hsrris, Smith, Noes -none. Ordinance read by Cpption--On motion of Ald. HR.rris, seconded by Atkin, the usual rules having been suspended, that the said ordinance be passed to the third reading. The motion passed by the following votes Ayes; Atkin, Hamilton, Hoffman, llarris, Smith. Nones-None. Ord. Read by Caption --On motion of Ald. Atkin, sec. by Ald. Harris the said ordinance was finnally passed by the following vote; Ayes: Atkin Hamilton,Hoffman, Harris, Smith. Noes. ",Tone. The Mayor declared the aforesaid Ord. Finnaiy passed. veddlina Ordinance: Ord, Committeeman J. T. Atkin presented a Peddling Ordinance, and moved the same be read in full. The motion was seconded by Ald. Harris, and was passed by the following vote: Ayes --Atkin, Hoffman, Hamilton, Harris, Smith. Noes. none. The Ordinance containe the emergency clause, therefore Ald. Harris - moved that the usual rules for passing ordinances be suspended and that the ordinance be hereafter be read by caption only hereafter and passed to its second rending. The motion was seconded by Ald. Atkin, and was passed by tise following vote: Ayes --Atkin, hamilton, Hoffman, Harris, Smith. Noes --None. Ord. Read by Caption. -Cm motion of Ald. Atkin, seconded by Ald, Smith, the ordinance was passed to its third reading, by the following votes Ayes --Atkin, Ramilton, Koffman, llarris, Smith. Noes. None.Read by Ca- tion. Motion by Ald. Harris, sec. by Ald. Hamilton that the aforesaid turd inance be finally passed was passed by the following vote. Ayes --Atkin, Hamilton, Harris, Hoffman, Smith. Noes. None The Mayor Declared same duly passed. /.Telephone Franchise Ordinance: Ord, in full in Ordinance book, City Hall. A Telephone Franchise Ordin tee was presented by Ord. Committeeman J. T. Atkin, who made a motion that the same be read in full. Ald. Sam E. Harris sec, the motion, which passed by the following vote: Atkin, Hoffman, Hamilton, Harris, Smith. Noes --none. This Ordinance containing the emergency clause, J. T. Atkin moved that the usual rules for passing ordinances be suspended, that the same therefore hereafter be read by ca)6ption and be passed to its second read- ing. Ald. Hamilton seconded the motion which passed by the following votes Ayes --Atkin, Hoffman, Hamilton, ltarris, Smith, Nones-None. Ord. Read by Caption. - The rubesl rules for passing Ordinances being heretofore suspended, Ald. Hoffman made a motion that the said Ordinance be passed toits third reading, which was passed by the following votes Ayes --Atkin, Hamilton, Hoffman, Harris, Smith. Noes --None. turd.
