November 14, 1949
The City Council met in regular Session on the above date, Mayor
C. S. Griffith presiding; Lee 6. Black, city manager and the folie
lowing aldermen and officials were present: Aldermen J. T. Atkin,
C.C.HPmilton, T. 'n. Hoffman, Jr., Sam F. TTprris mnd Pred Cooper
Smith. Officials, 7. H. 'Nunn mttorney for the city; C. S. Sanders,
assessor -collector; A. '. Pickle, marshal And Y. L. Cates, secre-
tary.
Minutes of the previous meetings were read. On motion of Ald
Harris seconded by Ald. Hoffman they were approved.
The parking meter advertising prrject was postponed until
a, future meeting.
City Yanager Mack read his rep -rt including the usual reports of
city officials, and the bills and accounts, and Assessor and Collec-
tor C. S. Ganders also read his report. on motion of Ald, Harris,
seconded by Ald. Hamilton thre reports were received and filed and
all bills ordered paid.
On motion of Ald. Hoffman, seconded by Ald. Harris the Council ord-
ered the contract for storing farm products in the City NYA building
at San Gabriel Park be recorded in the minutes of this date. (See
Page 29-A as recorded in full.)
On motion of Ald. C. C. Hrmilton, seconded by Ald. Sam E. Harris,
the Council ordered the publication of the city delinquent tax list,
and that in due process of law the delinquent tax payers be sued
for that portion of unpaid taxes.
It was moved by Ald. (11. C. "amilton and seconded by Ald. Fred
Cooper Smith that the suggestion of the city manager that the
Christmas lighting for the city be prepared and turned on on
the night of Thanksgiving. The motion was carried.
City Manager nlsck recommended the rurchase of a new Atbo-Fick-up
for the city. On motion of Ald. Smith and seconded by Ald tiamil-
ton the the city manager call for bids on the same from the
Georgetown Automobile Dealers, was approved by the Council.
There occuring no further business the Council adjourned.
