The City Council met in rep,ula.r session on the above date, Ynyor .
C. S. Griffith presiding. The following were. present. Lee ^!." Black,
City 11anager. Aldermen: J. T. Atkin, C.^.'Tamilton, '9.7.7Ioffman,Jr.,
Sam E. Ilarris, and :+red Cooper Smith. bfficers: %`. L. Cotes, secretory,
C. S. S^ndPrs, assessor -collector; I. F. Nun -no Atty. for the city and
A. P. Pickle, marshal.
On motion of Ald. S -,rte'. vnrris, the minutes of all previous meetings
were approved.
Yr+nager Lee 8. Black read his monthly report, including bills and accounts i -
in the amount of X405.71, also the reporst of the City Treasurer and
City Yarshal. On motion of Ald. Atkin, sec. by Ald. H«rri:s, the re-
ports were ordrre:t filed, and all bills ordered paid.
Ord. Committeeman Atkin offered an Ordinance extending the City Fire Limits
to two blocks from the courthouse square in each direction. See.(Ord.
in Ordin�,.nce Book at City I anagers' office) fild. Atkin moved th<,t the
daid Ordinance be rer-,d in full. "he motion wa.s seconded by Ald. Iiamil-
ton, and was carried unanimou-•ly, the following being the vote. Ayes -

Dn motion of Ald. Atkin, seconded by Ald. harris, the usual rules for
passing ordinances requiring three separate readings, and the afore-
said ordinance containing, nn emergency clause, be hereby esurspened and passel
to its second reading, and hereafter be read only by caption. '"he mo-

A motion eras made byn Atkin and seennd-d by Ald. TToffman requesting
the Health Committee to investigate the feasibility of purchasing
a fog,,ing machine for the city.
There occuring no further business, the Council ad`ourned to
on or about A3uly 2rth, 1949, for the transaction of such legal
business as ma,y appear before it.
