The City Council met in regular session on the .-hove date, Mayor C. S.
Griffith presiding the following aldermen end officials being present:
Aldermen J". T. Atkin, C. C. ?inmilton, Sam F. TT-rris and ire :Cooper Smith,
City PAanager Lee Co ?Black. Officials: A. ". rickle, marshall; C. S.
Sanders, assessor -collector; 1% L. Cates secretary. 1. H. Nunn, Atty,
for the city.
On motion mf Alderman Harris, seconded by Ald rman Atkin the minutes of the
previous meetings were approved.
The Com4ittee on resolutions, appointee by the Mayor at last session,
on the death of Alderman Sam E. Wilcox, reported as follows:
" '.!1hereas, a Kind Providence has seen fit to remove our beloved
felllow townsman, Mr. S. E. Wilcox, Sr., from our midst;
"Whereas, he was for many years a publi official and a member of
the City Administration';
"Therefore, Be It Resolved, First," that the City Council of George-
town, in regular session assembled, ex:ress its deep regret because to the
loss of our community of so worthy a citeizen and so excellent a public off
ficial;
"His life was gentle and the elements so mixed in him that Nature
might stand up and say to all the world, " 'This was a Klan;'
"Second, that we tender our heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved
whom he has left behind;
"And, lastly, that these resolutions be spread upon the minutes
of the City Council and a copy be sent to the Williamson County Sun for
publication."

The Monthly report of Manager Lee C. Black, including the report of the taa
cit treasurer n.nd city marshal, and the bills and Accounts amounting
to 1255*18"werread., on motion of Aid, Sam F. Harris, seconded by Ald
Fred Cooper Smith the report was received and filed and the bills ordered
paid.
On motion of Ald. S. T. Atkin, seconded by Ald. Sam F. Harris, the
City Yanager was directed to puchase 400 feet of fire hose for the fire
department at $1.50 per foot.
Ordinance Commit^-ema.n Atkin presetted a Sanitary Ordinanee, and moved
that it be read in full. A3d.C. C. Hamilton seconded the motion.
The said ordinance was read, and discussed at length.
There occurring no further busines the Council adjourned to meet
again on Kay 23 1949. ,
