HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 09.13.1948 CC-RGeorgetown, Texas, September 13, 1948 The City Couhneil met in regular monthly session on the above date, Mayor. C. S. Griffith presiding, the following officials, and Ald- ermen being present: I.ee C. "Uaek, eity.manager. Aldermen: J. T. Atkin, C. C. Hamilton, T. n. Hoffman, Jr., S. F. Harris Pnd S. F. 7ilcox. The minutes of the previous session of the Council were approved. The monthly reports of Manager Lee C. Mack, including the reports of city treasurer and other officials were received and filed. All accounts were ordered paid. ,A motion was mad- by Alderman Atkin and seconded by Alderman 'y lcox, that City Manager Black purchase a one and one-half ton truck from Yr. Vc Afferty, paying cash for the same. The truck is to be used by the Street Department. A petition was presented to the Council, which contained the names of five merchants of the city, tbquesting that any alley be opened be- tween 8th and iiibth street, and Main and Church Streets. The matter was referred to the City 11anager requesting that he investigate the possibily of opening said alley. On motion of Ald. Yarris, seconded by Ald. TTP.milton it was ordered by yhe Council that there be no parking south side of 12th Street between Austin and Main Streets, and on 9th Street between Mair: and Church Streets, South side, also that SLOW signs be placed on each side of The Tavern on 12th and ant the intersection of 12th and Church Sts. Alsofrthat the parking signs at the front•of the Postoffice be changed so as to read "tee- } g." J�7'" PO.-Cl/la1 n — There occuring no further business the Council adjourned.
