The City Council met in regular monthly session on Au;*ust 9th, 19.8,
Mayor C. S. Griffith presiding, the following members of the Coun-
cil Pnd officials were prrsent: Alderman: J.T. Akin, C.C.H,,imilton,
'V, r. Roffman, Jr.nnd S. 1�% `"ilcox. Officers; A. r. Pickle City Yarshall,
C. S. SP.nders, City TP.x Assessor -Collector and Y. L. Cates, Secretary.
Onmotion of Ald. Hoffman of the previous meeting was approved.
The Reportafor the previous month of the following were read by C. S.
Sanders: T.ee C. '31aek, city manager; C. S. Sanders, c.ssessor-Collector,
Estella Byrom, Treasurer, P.nd A. P. Pickle, city marshn1l. Includ-
ed in the city )t'anager's report was bills and accounts in the amount
of $406.42. On motion of Ald. C. C. H-,milton, seconded by Ald. S. E.
Wilcox all reports were receive: a-nd ordered filed and the bills and
accounts were ordered paid.

A. C. Toodfin, J. 17. Robertson, and Grady Tptkinrs. On motion of
Ald. Hoffman, seconded b y Ald. Atkin the Council ratified the
appointment.
A RRSOLITTION;
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas which
has iuriadiction over the area in which project No. Tex -V-41886 Contract
H. A. (V -41 -886)1 -T -K-1 of Southwestern University is located, that the
waiver of the removal requirements of Section 313 of the T,anham Act
(Public Law 8499 76 Congress as amended) with respect to said project, is
hereby specifically approved in accordance with Public Law 796, 80th
Congress.
Passed and epproved, this the 9th day of August, 1948.

The City Council met in P,diourned called session on the above.da.te,
Mayor C. S. Griffith presiding, the following being present. Aldermen;
Atkin, Hoffman Hamilton, 'vileox and Harris. Lee C. '31ack'City manager,
and the Contractor for the paving of Georgetoan Streets.
After considerable discussion the following motion was made by Ald. Sam
E. Harris: That a, seal coat be rs.pplied on 49 blocks of paved streets, as
oulined in plans and specifications na read by City Manager Lee C.
Black, and providing for the raving of the upper road at San Gabriel
Park, provided, however, that sufficient funds are available after
the seal coating of the aforesaid 49 blocks, said financing coming
out of the present paving funds.
The above motion was carried.
There occuring no further busines the Council adjourned.
