The City Cpuncil met in called session on this date, Mayor Co S.
Griffith presiding. Those ptesent were City Manager Lee C. Black,
W. H. Nunn, attorney for the city and the following alderman and
officials: AldRrmen S..T, Atkin, C. C. Hamilton, To P. Hoffman, Jr.,
Sam E. Harris, ^ ' . Officers: A. 'D. Pickle, marshal:
M. L. Cates, secretary.
This meeting was called principally to discusse, plans rfdr
improvements of the NYA Building at San Gabriel Park for the
purpose of renting it to the United States ReperveR, a rep-
resentative from the Reserves being present to explain
in detail plans that had been negotiated with other towns
in this district. On a Motion by Alderman Atkin seconded by
Alderman Harris, that City Manager Lee C. Black and the Mayor
Pubmit to the Governmebt a tentative proposition as to ss.id im-
provements on the building and rental.
A motion was made by Alderman C. C. Hamilton, Pnd seconded by
Alderman T. P. Hoffman, Jr., that the npw Baseball field at
San Gabriel Park be hereafter be known ss "The W ?'. 'As.rd Field"
of San Gabriel Park, in honor of the late City Manager , the
Honorable R. E. Ward.
