The City Council met in its regular monthly session on the above datep
Mayor C. S. Griffith, presiding, the following aldermen and officials
were present: Aldermen: J. T. Atkin, C. C. Hamilton, X11. P. Hoffman, Jr.,
Sam B. Harris and Sam E. Silcox, City Manager Lee C. 31ack. Officials:
C. S. Sand-rs, Assessor -collector; A. P. Pickle, marshall; M. L. Cates,
Secretary and T. II. Nunn, attorney for the city.
The minutes of rthe previous meeting of the Council were read, and
on motion of Alderman S. F. Harris they were approved.
City Manager Lee. C. '91aek read his monthly report to the Council,
and also the reports of the city treasurer and marshall and
the bills and accounts which amounted to $504.894 On motion of
Alderman C. C. Hamilton, the repotts were received for filing, and
the bill were ordered paid.
A proposed City garbage Disposal :,System wrts discussed. A motion was
made by Alderman Atkin twat a publication committee be appointed
for the purpose of further educating the public of the plans
of such a system, The motion passe3 and the Mayor appointed Ald.
Atkin and Tilcox and City Manager ?31ahk as such committee.
Williamson County's candidate for Congress lr-;,-K:MbClain-a4ked.:19rrmission
to erect a sign across Austin Avenue on the square, proclaiming
his candidacy. A majority of the Council voted Mr. McCllan said
congressional
permit, until another/candidate also makes such request.
There occuring no further business, the Council "djourned.
