HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 06.08.1976 - Utility Rates34 RESOLUTION RESCINDING A WATER, SEWER, AND GARBAGE RATE RESOLUTION PASSED ON THE 10TH DAY OF MARCH, 1975, AND PRESCRIBING AND SETTING WATER, SEWER, GARBAGE, WATER TAP, AND SEWER TAP SCHEDULES FOR THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, has recently enacted an ordinance captioned "Garbage and Trash Ordinance"; and, WHEREAS, said Ordinance makes provision for the establishment of certain utility rates and other charges; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the water rates, sewer rates, garbage rates, water taps, sewer taps, and other related charges are hereby established as follows: WATER RATES AND POLICY First 3000 gallons $2.50 (Minimum). Next 5,000 gallons 60� per thousand. Next 10,000 gallons 55� per thousand. All over 18,000 gallons 45� per thousand. Outside of City Limits - Water rates are one and one half times above rates. All leakage between meter and building is the responsibility of the owner, tenant or occupant of the building. SEWER RATES AND POLICY DOMESTIC RATES Four fixtures $1.80 (Minimum). Each additional fixture 40� each. COMMERCIAL RATES Two fixtures $1.80 Minimum). Each additional fixture 40� each. Each washrack $1.80. Each extractor $1.80. Anyone receiving City Water Service and connected to City Sewer must pay the above sewer charges regardless of whether the building is occupied or not. WATER AND SEWER TAP RATES WATER TAPS 5/8" or 3 " tap - $125.00 1" top - $200.00 plus cost of meter 1-1/2" tap - $300.00 plus cost of meter 2" tap - $500.00 plus cost of meter All others at actual cost. Taps made outside the city limits $125.00 extra on all sizes. SEWER TAPS " tap - 50.00 6" tap - $300.00 8" tap - $500.00 All others at actual cost. Taps made outside City Limits $150.00 extra on all sizes. GARBAGE RATES AND POLICY RESIDENTIAL Inside City Limits $2.50. Outside city limits $4.00. COMMERCIAL Rates vary. Minimum garbage rate is $4.00. Other rates to be set at City Hall by City Secretary. WASTE FROM CLEANUP OR BUILDING OPERATIONS If waste is hauled by City - $10.00 per load or proportionate charge for partial load. PAYMENT POLICY COLLECTION 71 If payment is received prior to the tenth of the month following the month in which the service was performed, rendered, or available, or if such payment bears a postmark within such limit, or received in the overnight depository by 8:00 a.m. the following day, such pay- ment shall be considered timely and not delinquent. When the said tenth day falls on a Sunday or a legal City Holiday such time for payment shall be extended to the next business day. When payment is made after the tenth of the month 10% wi II be added. Second notices wi I I be sent to all accounts not paid by the 10th of month. FAILURE TO PAY CHARGES If a third notice is required utility service will be discontinued. Account balance plus a $6.00 service charge must be paid before service wi I I be restored. The customer wi I I be required to pay the service charge whether his utilities have been disconnected or not. Rates become effective with the passage of this Resolution. Read, adopted and approved by the City Council at a meeting held at the City Hall in the City of Georgetown, this 8th day of June, 1976. N C. �= John C.
