AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO APPOINT ONE ASSISTANT, AND
DIRECTING WHEN THE SAID ASSISTANT HAS QUALIFIED AS SUCH, HB
SHALL HAVE ALL OF THE POWERS CONFERRED BY LAW UPON THE CITY
ATTORNEY AND MAY PERFORM ALL THIN DUTIES THAT MAY UNDER THY
LAW BH PERFORMED BY THIN CITY ATTORNRY* AND DECLARING SAID
ORDINANCE TO BE AN EMERGENCY,
BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council of the City of
Georgetown, Texas.
That, the City Attorney of the said City is hereby
empowered to appoint an Assistant City Attorney; the said
appointment to be in writing and be.filed with the City Clerk
of Georgetown$ Texas.
That such assistant City Attorney when appointed shall
take the oath of office for officers of the said City and
shall file said oath with the City Clerk of the said City.
That such assistant City Attorney shall thereafter
have all of the powers vested by law in the City Attorney
and shall have the power to perform all duties that may be
perforated by the City Attorney; and in the exercise of his
powers and duties his acts shall be as binding upon the City
as if performed by the City Attorney are cumulative of the
powers and duties vested by law in the City Attorney.
That there being no Ordinance of this City Authorizing
the appointment of an Assistant City Attorney# and an impera-
tive public necessity existing that this Ordinance be passed
under a suspension of the rules$ and that it take effect im-
mediately from and after its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 13ths day of April A.D.1931.
