AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10.12.090 ENTITLED "CITY
STREETS" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN RELATING TO SPEED ZONES ON CITY STREETS BY
ADDING A 30 MILE PER HOUR ZONE ON DELL WEBB BLVD;
REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown finds it in the best interest of the community to
periodically review and update speed zones within the city limits; and,
WHEREAS, City recently received an updated traffic analysis of Dell Webb Blvd from
Whispering Wind Dr to Sun City Blvd; and,
WHEREAS, the City has evaluated the traffic analysis report and agrees that the speed
limit be reduced from 35 mph to 30 mph on Dell Webb Blvd from Whispering Wind Dr to Sun
City Blvd; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown finds it is in the best interest of
the citizens of the City of Georgetown to update speed zones set out herein within the city limits
of the City of Georgetown.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The meeting at which this ordinance was approved was in all things
conducted in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
Section 2. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
Section 3. Section 10.12.090 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown,
Texas is hereby amended and shall provide as shown in EXHIBIT A regarding the Del Webb Blvd
speed zone.
Section 4. If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or
circumstance shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or

application thereof, of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.
Section 5. That all ordinances that are in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed and all other ordinances of the City not in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 6. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City
Secretary to attest. This Ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect ten (10)
days on and after publication in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of
Georgetown.

Sec. 10. 12.090. -City streets.
It is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the prima
facie maximum speed limit on those portions of the below listed streets routed in the City Limits
of Georgetown, is as stated in this section, which prima facie maximum speed limit for vehicles
travelling in each direction is effective at all times, and signs will be erected giving notice of the
prima facie maximum speed limit so declared:
A. 10 Mile Per Hour Zones:
Stilling Basin—Booty's Crossing Road: Beginning at a point three -tenths of a mile
west from the City Limit (500 feet from the west curbline of Tortoise Lane) and
continuing west along Booty's Crossing Road and through the Stilling Basin
parking lot, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 10 miles per hour.
B. 20 Mile Per Hour Zones:
1. South Pine Street: Beginning at MK&T Railroad and continuing south on Pine
Street to the intersection of South Pine Street and East 22nd Street, a prima facie
maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour.
2. San Jose Street: Beginning at the intersection of Pine Street and East 15th Street
and continuing south on San Jose Street to the intersection of San Jose Street and
East 22nd Street, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour.
3. East 22nd Street: Beginning at the intersection of South Pine Street and East 22nd
Street and continuing east on East 22nd Street to the intersection of East 22nd
Street and Maple Street, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour.
4. Approach to San Gabriel Park Low Water Crossing—College Street: Beginning at
a point on a lateral line extended from the east curbline of the San Gabriel Park
Low Water Crossing and continuing southwest for a distance of 100 feet, a prima
facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour.
School Speed Zone. Lakeway Drive: Beginning at the east curbline of Whisper
Oaks Drive and continuing east on Lakeway Drive to a point 200 feet from the east
curbline of Northwest Boulevard, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles
per hour during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:55 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 4:30
p.m., when school is in session.
6. School Speed Zone. Ash Street: Beginning at the north curbline of 8th Street
continuing south on Ash Street to the north curbline of University Avenue (S.H.
Highway 29) a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the
hours of 8:00 a.m. until 8:55 a.m., and 3:55 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., when school is in
session.

8. School Speed Zone. East 8th Street: Beginning at the west curbline of Ash Street
and continuing east on East 8th Street to the west curbline of Walnut Street, a
prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the hours of 8:00
a.m. until 8:55 a.m., and 3:55 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., when school is in session.
9. School Speed Zone. East 15th Street: Beginning approximately 150 feet west of
the west curbline of Maple Street to approximately 109 feet east of the east curbline
of James Street, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the
hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:05 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 3:40 p.m., when school is in
session.
10. School Speed Zone. Maple Street: Beginning at a point 265 feet north of the north
curbline of East 19th Street and continuing south on Maple Street to the north
curbline of East 22nd Street, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per
hour during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:05 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 3:40 p.m.,
when school is in session.
11. School Speed Zone. Olive Street: Beginning at the south curbline of East 15th
Street and continuing south on Olive Street to a point 70 feet south of the south
curbline of East 17th Street, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per
hour during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:05 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 3:40 p.m.,
when school is in session.
12. School Speed Zone. East 17th Street (1300 block): Beginning at the west curbline
of Vine Street and continuing west on East 17th Street to the west curbline of
Laurel Street, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the
hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:05 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 3:40 p.m., when school is in
session.
13. School Speed Zone. East 17th Street (1100 block): Beginning at the east curbline
of Olive Street and continuing east on East 17th Street to the eastern dead end of
the 1100 block of East 17th Street, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles
per hour during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:05 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 3:40
p.m., when school is in session.
14. School Speed Zone. Laurel Street: Beginning at the south curbline of East 15th
Street and continuing south to the south curbline of East 18th Street, a prima facie
maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:05
a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 3:40 p.m., when school is in session.
15. School Speed Zone. East 18th Street (1300 block): Beginning at the west curbline
of Vine Street and continuing west on East 18th Street to the west curbline of
Laurel Street, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the
hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:05 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 3:40 p.m., when school is in
session.

16.. School Speed Zone. Rockcrest Drive: Beginning at the intersection of Rockcrest
Drive and R.M. 2243 and continuing south on Rockcrest Drive to the north curbline
of Susana Drive, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during
the hours of 7:10 a.m. until 8:55 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., when school is
in session.
17. School Speed Zone. Woodview Drive: Beginning at a point 150 feet west of the
west curbline of Woodstone Drive continuing west on Woodview Drive to the
western limits of Woodview Drive, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles
per hour during the hours of 7:10 a.m. until 8:55 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 4:30
p.m., when school is in session.
18. School Speed Zone. Green Lee Drive: Beginning at a point 150 feet west of the
west curbline of Woodstone Drive continuing west on Green Lee Drive to the
western limits of Green Lee Drive, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles
per hour during the hours of 7:10 a.m. until 8:55 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 4:30
p.m., when school is in session.
19. School Speed Zone. Thousand Oaks Boulevard: Beginning at a point 150 feet
west of the west curbline of Woodstone Drive continuing west on Thousand Oaks
Boulevard to the western limits of Thousand Oaks Boulevard, a prima facie
maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the hours of 7:10 a.m. until 8:55
a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., when school is in session.
20. School Speed Zone. Northwest Boulevard: Beginning 80 feet north of the
intersection of Northwest Boulevard and Lakeway Drive, and continuing north
along Northwest Boulevard to a point 60 feet south of Thornwood, a prima facie
maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:55
a.m., and 3:05 until 4:30 p.m. when school is in session.
21. School Speed Zone. Village Commons Boulevard: Beginning 100 feet southeast
of the Village Elementary School property line and continuing north on Village
Commons Boulevard to a point 100 feet northeast of the school's northeast property
line, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the hours of
7:25 a.m. until 8:05 a.m., and 3:05 until 3:40 p.m. when school is in session.
22. School Speed Zone. U.S. 81 (North Austin Avenue): Beginning on U.S. 81
(North Austin Avenue) 50 feet north of County Road 151 and continuing south on
North Austin Avenue to the existing School Speed Zone, a prima facie maximum
speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 8:55 a.m. and
3:49 p.m. until 4:24 p.m., when school is in session.
23. School Speed Zone. County Road 151: Beginning at a point 50 feet west of the
west curbline of North Austin Avenue and continuing east on County Road 151 to
a point 475 feet east of the east curbline of North Austin Avenue, a prima facie
maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 8:55
a.m. and 3:49 p.m. until 4:24 p.m. when school is in session.

24. Maple Street: Beginning at the north right-of-way line of State Highway 29, also
known as University Avenue, and continuing north to the south right-of-way line of
Seventh Street.
25. Berry Creek Low Water Crossing—Oak Tree Drive: Beginning at a point on Oak
Tree Drive 60 feet west of the west curbline of Berry Creek Drive continuing west
across the Berry Creek low water bridge 550 feet to a point 64 feet from the east
curbline of Torrey Pines.
26. School Speed Zone. San Gabriel Boulevard: Beginning 78 feet north of the
intersection of San Gabriel Boulevard and Leander Road (FM 2243) and continuing
north approximately 337 feet to a point 35 feet south of the intersection of San
Gabriel Boulevard and Spanish Oak Circle, a prima facie maximum speed limit of
20 miles per hour during the hours of 7:15 a.m. until 8:15 a.m., and 5:00 p.m. until
6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
27. School Speed Zone. Arrowhead Lane/Cactus Trail/Thornwood Road: Arrowhead
Lane: A length of Arrowhead Lane from its intersection with the Benold Middle
School driveway north a distance of approximately 530 feet including its
intersection with Thornwood Road; Cactus Trail: From its intersection with
Arrowhead Lane west a distance of 130 feet; Thornwood Road: The entire length
of Thornwood Road from its intersection with Northwest Boulevard west to its
intersection with Arrowhead Lane, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles
per hour during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:55 a.m., and 3:05 p.m. until 4:30
p.m., when school is in session.
28. 7th Street: Beginning at the west right-of-way line of Montgomery Street and
continuing west to its intersection with Bridge Street.
29. 8th Street: Beginning at the west right-of-way line of Scenic Drive continuing
west to its intersection with Rucker Street.
30. 9th and 10th Streets: Beginning at the west right-of-way line of Scenic Drive
continuing west to their intersections with Bridge Street.
31. Montgomery Street: Beginning at the north right-of-way line of 8th Street
continuing north to its intersection with 7th Street.
32. Rucker Street: Beginning at the north right-of-way line of 8th Street continuing
north to its dead end just north of 7th Street.
33. Bridge Street: Beginning at its intersection with l Oth Street continuing north to its
intersection with 7th Street.
34. School Speed Zone. Walnut Street: Beginning at the north curbline of East 8th
Street and continuing south on Walnut Street to the north curbline of State
Highway 29 (University Avenue) a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles
per hour during the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 8:55 a.m., and 3:55 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

College Street and continuing east on East 9th Street to the east curbline of Walnut
Street a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the hours of
8:00 a.m. until 8:55 a.m., and 3:55 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
36. School Speed Zone. East 10th Street: Beginning at the east curbline of South
College Street and continuing east on East 10th Street to the east curbline of
Walnut Street a prima facie maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour during the
hours of 8:00 a.m. until 8:55 a.m., and 3:55 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
37. School Speed Zone. Katy Crossing Boulevard: Beginning at a point 170 feet
south of the south curbline of its intersection with River Park Lane and River Park
Cove and continuing southeast approximately 1,593 feet to the property line of
Cooper Elementary School, during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:55 a.m. and 3:05
p.m. until 4:30 p.m., when school is in session.
38. School Speed Zone. Woodlake Drive: Beginning at a point 247 feet south of the
south curbline of its intersection with Williams Drive and continuing southwest
approximately 844 feet, during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:05 p.m. and 3:05 p.m.
until 3:40 p.m., when school is in session.
39. School Speed Zone. Bellaire Dr.: Beginning at a point 41 feet from the east
curbline of Tescate Drive continuing 1,107 feet east to the west curbline of
Rosedale Boulevard, during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:05 a.m. and 3:05 p.m.
until 3:40 p.m., when school is in session.
C. 25 Mile Per Hour Zones:
School Speed Zone. Inner Loop: Starting at a point 55 feet south of the south
pavement edge of F.M. 971 continuing south 1,050 feet to the property line of
Cooper School, during the hours of 7:25 a.m. until 8:55 a.m. and 3:05 until 4:30
p.m.
2. School Speed Zone. Stadium Drive. Starting at the City limit line on Stadium
Drive approximately 40 linear feet east of east curbline of Krystal Knoll Parkway
and extending 500 linear feet to the west during the hours of 7:30 a.m. until 8:10
a.m. and 3:40 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
D. 35 Mile Per Hour Zones:
1. Del Webb Boulevard: Beginning 2,200 feet from the centerline of R.M. 2338 at its
intersection with Del Webb Boulevard and continuing east and northeast along Del
Webb Boulevard to its intersection with Whispering Wind
Drive a prima facie maximum speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
2. Wolf Ranch Parkway (northbound and southbound): From SH 29 West to Rivery
Blvd.
E. 40 Mile Per Hour Zones:

1. Approach to Airport Road—Lakeway Drive: Beginning at a point 600 feet west of
the intersection of Airport Road and Lakeway Drive and continuing east to the west
curbline of Airport Road, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 40 miles per hour.
2. Airport Road (South of Lakeway): Beginning at the intersection of the West
Frontage Road of IH -35 and continuing north on Airport Road to a point 600 feet
south of the intersection of Lakeway Drive and Airport Road, a prima facie
maximum speed limit of 40 miles per hour.
Airport Road (North of Lakeway): Beginning at a point 600 feet north of the
intersection of Lakeway Drive and Airport Road and continuing north on Airport
Road to the northwest City Limit, a prima facie maximum speed limit of 40 miles
per hour.
4. College Street (Back Park Road): Beginning at a point two-tenths of a mile north
of the north curbline of 2nd Street and College and continuing northeast along
College to a point two-tenths of a mile southwest of a lateral line extended from the
west curbline of the San Gabriel Park Low Water Crossing, a prima facie
maximum speed limit of 40 miles per hour.
5. Rivery Boulevard: Beginning at the south curbline of Country Club Road and
continuing south/east to its intersection with the southbound (west) frontage road of
IH -35.
6. Northwest Boulevard: Beginning at a point 200 feet south of the southern/eastern
edge of the pavement of Serenada Drive to a point 140 feet north/west of the
north/west curbline of Hedgewood Drive.
F. 45 Mile Per Hour Zones:
Lakeway Drive: Beginning at a point 400 feet east of the east curbline of
Northwest Blvd. and continuing east along Lakeway to a point 600 feet west of the
intersection of Airport Road and Lakeway Drive, a prima facie maximum speed
limit of 45 miles per hour;
2. Innerloop Road: Beginning at the intersection of old U.S. Highway 81/South
Austin Avenue and continuing east along Innerloop Road to the intersection of
County Road 115; and beginning at the intersection of U.S. Highway 29 East and
continuing south along Innerloop Road approximately 3,007 feet to its intersection
with Belmont Drive.
3. D.B. Wood Road (northbound and southbound): From FM 2338/Williams Drive to
a point 1.5 miles south of FM 2338/Williams Drive and from SH 29 West to a point
0.75 mile north of SH 29 West.
G. 30 Mile Per Hour Zones:
The speed limit on all City streets is designated to be 30 miles per hour unless
otherwise posted in compliance with this Chapter.

2. Del Webb Boulevard: Beginning at its intersection with Whispering Wind Drive

H. Temporary Construction Zones:
The speed limit in and around construction areas shall be as designated by official
signage erected by authority of the City's Traffic Engineer so long as the signage is
posted in compliance with the Manual on Traffic Control Devices.
55 Mile Per Hour Zones:
1. D.B. Wood Road (northbound and southbound): From a point 1.5 miles south of
FM 2338/Williams Drive to a point 0.75 miles north of SH 29 West.
2. Georgetown Inner Loop Southeast (eastbound and westbound): From SH 29 East
to Business 35/Austin Avenue.
