HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 03.09.1982 - AnnexationA RESOLUTION INITIATING ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SET TIME, DATE AND PLACE FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION WHEREAS, Southwestern University has requested the City of . Georgetown to annex the Presidents House at Southwestern University;. and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown and the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Georgetown must hold two (2) public hearings on the proposed annexation;_ now therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown that proceedings for the annexation of the property described in Exhibit A are here by initiated and that the Mayor is authorized to set the time, date and place for required public hearings. L. Dimmitt to A. J. Engvall, of record in Volume 116, Page 297, all of a certain one acre tract conveyed to J. M. Gates, of record in Volume 281, Page 103 of the Deed Records of Williamson County,Texas, and a portion of the existing State Highway 29 right of way. Beginning at a point in the south right of way of State Highway 29, said point being in the east city limits of the City of Georgetown, for the SW corner hereof; THENCE. N 19° W along the existing city limits at 80 feet passing the SW corner of the said 128.4 acre tract and the said one acre tract, in all 550 feet to a point in the east city limits and the west line of the said 128.4 acre tract for the NW corner hereof; Thence, N 71' E, 550 feet to a point for the NE corner hereof; Thence,'S 19° E at 470 feet crossing the north right of way of State Highway 29, in all 550 feet to a point in the south right of way of the said State Highway 29, for the SE corner hereof; Thence, S 71° W, 550 feet along the south right of way to the place of beginning and containing 6.94 acres of land. 0 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON COM04PIAATED ANNEXATION The City of Georgetown, Texas proposes to institute annexation proceedings to enlarge and extend the boundary limits of said City to include that certain land located in Williamson County, Texas as described in exhibit A below. A public hearing will be held by and before the City Council of the City of Georgetown and Planning and Zoning C Udssion, on the 19th day of April, 1982 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Georgetown, Texas, for all persons interested in the above 1 have the proposed annexation. The Southwest corner of the property begins at a white board fence on Highway 29 and proceeds North along a chain link fence to the North curb of the parking lot, which would be the Northwest corner. The Northwest corner to the Northeast corner is parallel to the Southwest/Southeast line. The Northeast corner to the Southwest corner is parallel to the Southwest/Northwest boundary and proceeds along the East side of the pebble finish paved driveway from Highway 29 to the President's house. The Southeast corner is at a stone pillar at the East side of the driveway entrance from Highway 29 to the Southwest corner noted above. The East and West boundaries are 360 feet, more or less. The North and South boundaries are 180 feet, more or less." We believe that it would be beneficial to the University to have the benefits afforded by City ordinances, as well as the police and fire services. Your prompt consideration will be appreciated.
