1949 Tax Ordinance.
CRDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETO� 11 TEXAS PROVIDING FOR
THE LEVYING AND COLLECTING OF' TAKES FOR THE YEAR 19499
AND DIRECTING THE DISPOSITIuN OF Si,14E AiTYD DECLARITIG AN
El., ERGANCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUIML CF GEORGETOWN TEXAS:
That for the year 1949, there shall be levied and collected
an ad-valorum tax of one be 25/100 ( $1.25 ) dollars on each $100.00 in
valuation of all property subject to taxation by the said City, under
the constitution and lays of the State of Texas. That when said taxes
are collected, same shall' he applied as follows:
To the general fund, to pay the expenses of government of said
City, one & 5/100 ('$1.05) dollars, from each $100.00 in valuation of
said taxable property.
To pay off and discharge, as same may become due, the prin-
cipal and interest of all the unpaid bonds of the said City known as
"Street Bonds* , twenty cents ( $0.20 ) on each $100.00 in valuation of
said taxable property.
That the fact that it is necessary to make prompt provisions.
for the levying and collecting of taxes for the year 1949, creates an
emergency and makes it necessary that the rules requiring that ordinance
be read at three separate meetings before final passage be suspended, and
that the said, rules are here suspended and ordered to take effect from
its passage.
Passed and approved this the 10th. dray of Zanuary A. D. 1949.
