Hester presiding; The following officials and aldermen be- ing present: J. R. Chastain, C. C. Hamilton, 7M. P. Hoffman, Jr., Sam E, Hsrris, Alderman 'Tilcox was absent on account of illness. Officials: Lee C. '?lack, city manager; C. S. Sanders, assessor and collector; '9. H. Nunn, attorney for the city; A. P. Pickle, mar - shall; M. L. Cates Secretary. The minutes of the previous adl6urbedd&regular session wefeap-- proved. Bills and accounts in the amount of $493.43 as present - e by Manager Black were ordered paid, and the monthly reports of Treasurer Byrom, C. S. Sanders and Hanager Black were re- ceived and filed. On motion of Alderman W. P. Hoffman, Jr., seconded bym Ald, C. C. Hamilton, the Council authorized the execution of a lease of a portion of the city cotton yard i20xi00rfeet on the southest corner of the yard to the Counoty Board of School trustees for the erection of a building to be Lised for Veteran's Vocational school, for a term of five years, with option for a loner'period of time, the consideration of said lease for the sum of 91.00, and such f other consideration as fty appear in completed and filed contract, which the -Mayor was authorized to sign. On motion of Ald. S. F. Harris, seconded by Ald. J. R. Chastain, the City Manager was authorized to elage contract with the 'Vater Tank Service Co., of Dallas for the repainting of the City 'Vater Standpipe. On motion of Ald. U. P. Hoffman, seconeded by Ald. C. C. Hamilton, the Council set the salary of City Marshall A. P. Pickle at 0350.00 per month, eliminating a fee cbbxge from overtime parking fines. On motion of C. C. Hamilton, seconded by Ald. S. E. Harris, the Council modified the fine for overparking at meters from #2 to $1.00. It does not modifyother traffic violation fines. Aldermen Hoffman and Harris were appointed a committee for the can- vassing of the the returns, from the the City Election held Tuesday, April ist, 1947, and reported the following offid'ials elected: Treasur®r, Estella 71yrom, 337 Assessor -Col.
